The catastrophe is the system ---- Climate change is already leading to famine
and deadly heat waves. Wars destroy the livelihoods of millions. Right-wingpoliticians are trying to reverse the gains of feminism. Global colonialismcontinues and indigenous people continue to be stripped of their homes andcultures in the name of "progress and development", including for the expansionof so-called green technologies. We work in soul-destroying jobs, rush from examto exam at university, school or training shortly before burnout or are harassedby the employment and social welfare office. Meanwhile, rising inflation robsmany of their last economic hedge and impoverishes many who are not.Is it all just bugs in the system? No, these things are expressions of thesystem. No government and no market in the world will solve these problems forus, because they are the cause of the problems. We can either continue throughconsumer criticism, party politics and co. keep the system of oppression alive,or stand against it together and fight for a better world.HealIt was not just the pandemic that isolated us from one another and mentallyfractured many of us - centuries of violence and exploitation by the state, patriarchy and capital have left wounds that are passed on from generation togeneration. As a group we want to try to escape from this cycle of hurt and the resultingalienation and loneliness. We want to create spaces in which we can rebuild andstrengthen our relationships with each other and with our environment¹. There isa lot to do - our relationships are currently often characterized by money issuesand social power games. Our environment is only a supplier of "resources" fromwhich we understand ourselves completely separately. Healing our relationshipsalso means recognizing in which hierarchies we ourselves are stuck and where wemay take advantage of our positions of power and even oppress others. And itmeans being there for each other as we try to break free from the system and getits destructive logic out of our heads. To learnhow did we get here Where do we want to go? How do we form strong, well-networkedstructures? How do we organize our supply decentrally and autonomously? What canwe change in our lives now, and how does the path to anarchist society(ies) looklike? The Black Ruhr University organizes radical educational courses and lecturesevery year in which we deal with such topics of anarchist theory and practice, but also with other topics from an anti-authoritarian perspective. Radicaleducation means: We don't want to replicate the authoritarian structures of thestate education system, but rather organize education from below. In the courses,we all decide together what content and how we want to learn.BattleBecause the old order will not simply perish, we must actively resist itsinstitutions. As an open group, we limit our actions in order not to be exposedto excessive repression. But it is clear to us that we will not allow ourmovement to be divided into peaceful and militant, legal and illegal. The statedoes not forbid and punish many actions because they are fundamentally wrong, butto steer any protest along paths that do not endanger its order. In doing so, heactively destroys alternatives to the existing system. Unlike some left-winggroups, we don't want to hide, we want to be clearly part of a movement that isendangering this order. Our contribution to supporting militant movements is topass on knowledge and skills to protect against repression, support thoseaffected and strengthen the analysis of institutions of rule and how they work, for example through lectures and texts on state/capitalism, the police oruniversities .Building revolutionary communitiesIn everything we do, we try not to reduce problems and solutions to individualtopics. Our goal is to build revolutionary communities and cultures in which allparts and needs of our lives have a place and can be the seeds of other, bettersocieties. We are aware that there will never be a perfect society. While majorchanges are possible, not all suffering will go away. For us, our life andrevolution are a journey on which we accompany each other and are there for eachother, not a way to a final paradise state. We work with many other groups andpeople and are part of the worldwide anarchist movement. Anarchists take part inmany struggles worldwide, e.g. the resistance against the Russian war ofaggression, the uprisings against the Iranian regime, the colonial state USA orthe destruction of the world around us by the German state and German capital.Anarchist introductory meeting: join in!If something we do or want to do appeals to you, we would be happy if you wouldlike to join us. We are always open to new ideas.
