Theinstitutions have tried to do everything in the shadows and in silence, but theyhave not succeeded.Too bad that the proposal was born from the Minister of War, pardon of theDefense, Guerini, branded Pd; after hearing the infrastructure minister,Guerini's proposal is published in his name in the Official Gazette. The moneywill come from the PNRR: 190 million euros, subtracted from the fund for socialcohesion.And here in a highly militarized territory such as PisaColtano, as in a sleightof hand, the proposal to build a military base or should we say "another" appearsout of nowhere? In the beautiful agricultural territory, as well as bio-park thatextends between Pisa and Livorno, in the midst of civil and non-civil airportstructures (sadly jumped to the news on a union complaint, because mysteriouslyloads of hidden weapons had appeared) and between the military airport of Pisaand the base American Camp Darby (expanded in 2017) some of the upper floors,after having voted almost unanimously the increase of 10 billion euros formilitary spending, has well thought of placing there ... "a beautiful and brandnew military base, excellent logistical position, of the latest generation, orbetter defined as ecological barracks ":An investment for a "new functional structure dedicated to the GIS SpecialIntervention Group of the 1st" Tuscania "Carabinieri Parachute Regiment and theCentro Cinofilo, centers of excellence of the Carabinieri, engaged inanti-terrorism activities and in the security of diplomatic representations atrisk, as well as in the activities of special forces and special operationsforces of the Armed Forces ". And operating in the framework of the Army SpecialForces Command (COMFOSE). (1)Needless to add that these forces also operate in war theaters, and participatein joint NATO missions?Needless to add that the location between maritime structures connected from theAmerican base of Camp Darby to the port of Livorno via a navigable canal, and themilitary airport of Pisa is logistically perfect, to say the least?Needless to add, it seems that we intend to build yet another War Pole, on ahighly militarized territory between the two provinces of Pisa and Livorno,moreover by pretending not to know? Yet apparently there had been someconfidential meetings of the CoMiPar. Joint Joint Committeefor the regulation of State-Region military easements in 2021, precisely on 9April. Maybe it was to exchange Easter greetings?According to what is reported in the decree, it is a "work intended for nationaldefense", to which the procedural simplification measures provided for by art. 44of the decree-law 31 May 2021, n. 77, converted with amendments by law 29 July2021, n. 108. So it is clear that the government on this work wants to triggerthe turbo.Fortunately, the denunciation of the councilor of a "City in the Municipality"sets events in motion, begins to stir the waters and make committees andmovements and individuals converge towards the constitution of a permanentcommittee against the base. The first rumors are leaking: these are 440 thousandcubic meters of new buildings to be built within the protected territory of thePark, on a total area of 730 thousand square meters: terraced houses, polygons ofshooting, buildings, training facilities, warehouses, offices, car washes: a realcitadel for war.To date, it is not known how many millions of euros will be spent to destroy anarea of the park and further militarize the territory, so we are truly at theparadox: the resources of the PNRR are not invested to protect and enhancenatural reserves, but to cement them and fill them with war equipment. In short,here is the ecological transition of the Democratic Party and the League.All this is achieved moreover with exceptional procedures that bypass theterritorial decision-making levels and derogate from all regulations - includingthose of environmental protection - and cancel the participation of citizens.On April 19th in the Arci di Coltano club the first passage takes place with thepolitical forces, trade unions, ecologists, the pro-loco committee of Coltano,farmers and residents (who will then form a committee). The Coordination againstthe military missions abroad of Livorno is also present. About two hundred rathermotivated and militant people for some time, and ordinary citizens and studentsand researchers from the nearby Pisa university. The presence of the feministmovements of the two provinces is rich and varied. The atmosphere is immediatelyquite hot, as the sensation of being deceived by all the government forces of thecity and the country is burning.The emerging objectives are clear:No to the military base in Coltano or elsewhere, Neither a cent nor a squarecentimeter for the militarization of the territory, Stop the environmentaldevastation that would ensue - Stop the economy of the war!On April 28 the "No Base Movement - neither in Coltano nor elsewhere" will beofficially born, which brings together the mobilization of the last month and hasthe following objectives: the withdrawal of the Prime Minister's decree; keepmobilization high, (as long as there is no withdrawal, there will be no guaranteeof the end of the danger); the rejection of the work, in all its forms and in allplaces.The local institutional political forces had already leaked, in the press, somepossibilities of bargaining, relocation, unpacking, reduction and variouscompensations.The need and urgency to network and oppose yet another criminal choice clearlyemerges, without being persuaded by false promises or reassurances frompoliticians and carabinieri.Two days are promoted:-15 May: assembly at the GKN to bring together the realities that took part inthe great GKN event in Florence on 25 and 26 March.- (in preparation for an anti-militarist) 2 June with a large nationaldemonstration in Pisa.On May 4, the newly created movement will demonstrate in Florence where themeeting should have taken place in a secret place, later discovered (Barracks ofthe Regional Legion): secrecy as a further demonstration of a system, whichthinks it can decide on the heads of citizens and of the towns without anyinvolvement. The meeting will take place between the President of the Region, thePresident of the Park Authority and the General of the Carabinieri. In Coltano,therefore, an important and I would say national game is being played for thefreedom of all and all, against the arrogance of power. "The constitutivefeatures of this work are the same as those of a system we fight:a system that subtracts € 190 million of public resources from development andcohesion funds to build a military base; a violent system on territories andbodies that feeds a war economy,[...]a system that associates security with thepresence of armored vehicles and barbed wire. A sistemto change, a patriarchal system of which war is only the highest expression; adisrespectful system towards the air and the earth, which has no qualms aboutdesigning 73 hectares of military base on fertile land, used for grazing andcultivation; The No-base Movement wants to move by keeping all this together, alltogether ".Any struggle in the territories that fights militarism will always see us in thefront line, connecting us to comrades who want to practice direct action, theunion and territorial struggle and assembly methods, from below and horizontal.Let's get organized, let's bring awareness.The fight has just begun and it doesn't stop!Note:(1) The Army Special Forces Command (COMFOSE) is a Brigade-level command,responsible for ensuring the necessary unity in training, preparation, proceduraldevelopment as well as the acquisition of materials for the Special Forces sector.The headquarters is located in the new military district of Ten.
