 The COVID-19 Omicron outbreak is ongoing in Auckland, so please keep doing what

happening right now is Protect Putiki: https://linktr.ee/protectputiki on Waiheke
Island, where kaitiaki are protecting Putiki Bay from a colonial and
environmentally harmful marina development by Kennedy Point Marina Development
Limited through peaceful direct action. The kaitiaki have suffered massive
amounts of violence from private security guards and police, but their peaceful
direct action is resisting the development every day.
If you can go to Waiheke Island, then the kaitiaki need more people who can bear
witness. If you can't go to Waiheke Island, then you can help through donating
money and supplies, sharing the campaign's content on social media, signing
petitions and open letters, attending solidarity rallies, attending court
hearings of kaitiaki who have been arrested by police, popping a manu, recording
it on video and tagging Protect Putiki and talking to your friends and whanau
about the campaign.

Somali Education and Development Trust in conjunction with the Aotearoa Africa
Foundation, would like to invite you to (hold a stall/perform) at our World
Refugee Day event held on 20-22 June 2022. A celebration of refugee stories, Art
and Culture to raise awareness within New Zealand society. Themes include:

The New Histories Curriculum: Resources and Tools for Teachers, online via Zoom
This is the second event of a three-part free webinar series titled Te Tiriti in
the New Histories Curriculum. After the first webinar featuring overall tips on
implementing the curriculum, this second session is focused on practitioners in
the classroom. Tangata Tiriti will be sharing tools and resources that can be
used with students to implement the curriculum. They will once again draw from an
experienced range of Tiriti educators and teachers to guide us through some of
their favourite materials to share with our next generations. All are welcome.
The final event on July 26 will emphasise how best to engage the broader

On behalf of the Somali Community in New Zealand, Somali Education and
Development Trust, is inviting you to join them to celebrate the 62nd anniversary
of Somalia's Independence from Britain and Italy in July 1960. The Independence
Day of Somalia is a national holiday observed annually in Somalia on July 1. The
date celebrates the unification of the Trust Territory of Somalia (the former
Italian Somalia) and the State of Somalia (the former British Somaliland) on July
1,1960, which formed the Somali Republic. Our Somali Kiwis to celebrate their
national day in New Zealand means so much to them when reflecting on the colonial
period, their freedom fighters and the young generation to know their history.
It's also important to keep the traditional values, heritages, the identity and
the uniqueness of being an African, Somali and New Zealanders in Aotearoa. Free.

Conscientious Protectors: Extinction Rebellion, EVENT Cinemas Westcity
This is the untold story of how in April 2019 Extinction Rebellion rallied the
largest civil disobedience of a generation, holding London to ransom for 10 days,
forcing the government to meet and discuss their three demands to avert the
climate crisis. With exclusive access to the EXTINCTION REBELLION (XR) movement,
this fly on the wall documentary, tells their story. This monumental feat took
months and months of planning, and we followed the key co-founders of XR, Roger
Hallam, Gail Bradbrook, Clare Farrell, Stuart Basden and Larch Maxey through the
planning and onto the streets. This film delves into the inner workings of XR's
decision making, their methods, their stresses and strains, as they rallied the
country to participate in the largest civil disobedience of its kind, taking hold
of 5 sites in London during the April 15th rebellion 2019. Special appearance by
