After the pandemic of the crown virus and the crisis caused by it, the working
class around the world, even in Serbia, has been facing the consequences of thewar in Ukraine for some time. In Serbia, these consequences are very vividly seenin the example of daily price growth. Inflation was felt even during thepandemic, but the war in Ukraine drastically intensified and accelerated it tosuch an extent that the life of the average worker in Serbia became unbearable.---- Even before this crisis, it was difficult to procure basic foodstuffs fromthe average worker's salary and at the same time pay all duties in the form ofbills for electricity, water, rent, etc. Due to the inflation that has befallenus, meeting basic needs, such as food, drink and shelter, has become almostimpossible. Despite all that, workers' wages are not growing or decreasing, ourjobs are mostly insecure, while the prices of products all around us are gettinghigher. It is estimated that this war could cause the biggest increase in foodprices in the last 50 years, and a jump in energy prices by more than 50 percent. We have been told that the price of electricity will increase in the near future, while the rents for apartments have already gone to heaven, as well as the priceof paper. There is a story about raising tuition fees at state faculties, andreducing budget places for male and female students. In other words, as is alwaysthe case, the burden of the crisis, for which politicians and big capitalistsaround the world are most responsible, has been shifted to the backs of workers.By harnessing us even more to its capitalist machinery, the system is trying tosurvive this crisis period, exploiting us until we rebel against it. We shouldnot have an understanding for the representatives of the system and their current"troubles". We should not take their word for it when they tell us thateverything they do is in the name of the "common good". Let us not forget thatwhen crises like this happen, we, the working class, suffer while they get rich.Inflation in Serbia will not stop until workers across Serbia set an ultimatum topoliticians and bosses: either a radical improvement in working conditions and anend to inflation, or workers entering a general strike! This crisis situation is exposing us more and more drastically the fact thatthere is only one choice for us workers: EITHER WE OR THEM! That is the onlything we can really choose from in this system. Let's choose OURSELVES!_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
