Unable to respond to the social crisis other than by the most authoritarian and
police solutions, the liberals of LREM have boosted the score of the fascistparty... which they seem to prefer even to left-wing reformism! ---- The resultof the legislative elections is without appeal: the RN arrives in force, theNupes and Macron fail with an absolute majority and the abstention is record. Themost shocking is obviously the score of the RN which almost triples its bestresult at the time of its first entry into the National Assembly in 1986. ----More than 90 deputies including a certain number of fascists enter parliamentwith the help of Macron. This massive and unprecedented presence since theestablishment of the Fifth Republic is one more sign of the electoral advance ofthe far right, but also of the creeping fascism of the state, through the cynicaltactics of a liberal camp. ready to open the dikes to stay in power.Uninhibited racistsThe RN becomes the second political party represented in the National Assembly, ahead of rebellious France. In 1986 and because of the establishment of aproportional share by Mitterrand in the legislative elections, the FN entered theNational Assembly with 35 deputies. This maneuver by the socialist president to avoid cohabitation with the RPR (nowLR) is the same implemented thirty-six years later by the neo-liberal camp, through his declarations putting on an equal footing the electoral alliance ofthe left (the Nupes) and the RN.The result is simply catastrophic. However, historical examples are not lackingto remind us that when the fascists are legitimized and reach positions of power,it is difficult to get them out. With 89 seats, the RN may have just established itself permanently in statebodies, and in any case has the necessary weight to be able to impose its themesat the very heart of parliamentary debate : xenophobia, racism, authoritarianism.Indeed, he will be able to weigh against a weakened presidential camp, without amajority, always more violent, by promising to be the guarantor of order againstthe left that the power has striven to demonize. This is all the more likelysince some of the elements of nationalist ideology were already present in thepolitics of the current presidential majority.Millions for the RNFor the RN, this victory pays off big, also financially. On the one hand, thenumber of votes obtained earns the party a fixed annual sum. On the other hand, each elected official will allow the RN to lock in relatives of the Le Pen clan,to recycle former members who are less "sortable" as parliamentary attachés.Finally, millions of euros (around 10 million per year for the RN) of publicsubsidies accompany the posts of deputy, normally to animate the democratic lifeof their constituency. While the party was devitalizing from within in recent years, some of itsexecutives and activists had left the ship, by these results, the RN will onceagain be able to develop, perhaps even like never before.By passing electorally in front of the traditional party of the right, it candeprive it of the place of political springboard for the young notables of theupper classes, even if the experience of the FN/RN in the European Parliament hasclearly shown that it would use it rather to line the coffers of the massivelyindebted party and the pockets of its leaders. But it is our money that willfinance the racist exits of the members of the RN.Allies to defend capitalismIf this RN score is unexpected, it is not totally unexpected. The strategy ofdemonization carried out for years and well known reached a new stage during thiselection, when several members of the presidential majority (such as the beatenminister Amélie de Montchalin, or the former minister also beaten ChristopheCastaner) put their backs on the back of the fascist threat and the "anarchistsof the Nupes" who would threaten order and the Republic. The Macronist candidates made little call to beat the RN in the second round.DRMoreover, a large majority of the LREM candidates beaten in constituenciesopposing RN and Nupes in the 2nd round did not express an anti-RN voteinstruction, some having even maintained themselves, allowing the victory of theRN candidates in the triangular framework. The last dikes jumped in the face of fear of a victory for the left. As in everycrisis situation, authoritarian liberals have shown their preference for fascismin the face of a risk of moderate control of capitalism.By their failure to respond to the problems of the moment (inflation, ecologicalcrisis, wage increases, etc.) other than by the most authoritarian and policesolutions, they have voluntarily opened the way to such a score from a fascist party. The elections pass, the struggle continuesWe have said it and repeated it throughout the whole period and we will repeat itagain: fascism is fought at the base, by the base!As anti-fascist, anti-capitalist and revolutionary activists, we cannot relysolely on a parliamentary counterweight to confront the fascists and their ideas. The past electoral sequence, it is in the street and through the struggles thatwe will wage against racist policies, against fascist threats that we will pushthem back. It is by building a strong social movement, closer to the interests ofour camp, that of the exploited and against the dominations that we suffer, thatwe will reduce the fascist threat.Reducing this pressure also necessarily involves direct and real engagementagainst all far-right groups, from the RN to the multiple fascist bands, on theground. This is why we call on all the organizations of the social and revolutionaryleft, combative trade union organizations and the social movement to invest inthe field of the anti-fascist struggle and to build, locally and nationally, thetools to lead the fight effectively against the extreme right and its ideas. We call for the unity of the anti-fascist camp, because the divisions anddisputes that lead us into absurd and counterproductive situations are definitelybelow the stakes of our time and lastingly undermine our capacities to fight.Don't let them win any longer.Libertarian Communist Union, June 22, 2022https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Palais-Bourbon-89-elu-es-RN-macronistes-complices_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
