 Once again the Ecuadorian people have taken to the streets and highways. The

Confederation of Indigenous Nations of Ecuador (CONAIE) began mobilizations on
June 13 throughout the territory demanding compliance with a platform of 10 basic
points that make demands felt by those from below. After more than a year of
unsuccessful dialogue with the government and unsatisfied demands, CONAIE resumes
the fight. ---- With the passing of days, more social sectors are added:
students, teachers, the group of workers and the population in general. Hundreds
of thousands participate in various marches and the occupation of the House of
Culture, a building that had previously been occupied by the police. Lasso's
government decreed a State of Exception, which he had to withdraw due to pressure
from the mobilized people. However, the repression has been fierce: several dead,
wounded, detained, disappeared throughout the country. Several testimonies
indicate that the levels of repression have been among the highest in the
country's history. The Army is in the streets together with the police.

Faced with so much repression, the people have redoubled the fight. The
continuity of the mobilizations and the search for a political and negotiated
solution to the conflict, attending to the popular demands, are firmly manifested.

This is not the first time that the people of Ecuador have mobilized with such
force. It has already done so on several occasions and has faced neoliberal
policies and governments before. In fact, several of those governments fell
because of popular mobilization, which has acquired, as on this occasion, the
edge of social revolt. Bucaram, Mahuad and Lucio Gutiérrez were overthrown by the
protests of this same people who do not tolerate dispossession and do not listen
to it. In 2019, the people of Ecuador rolled back the fuel increase imposed by
the previous government, led by Lenin Moreno.

This fight is part of the cycle of protests in our continent, which began with
intense and massive mobilizations in Puerto Rico, Haiti, Ecuador, Chile and
Colombia. This cycle is still open and has a new chapter in this new uprising of
the Ecuadorian people led by its most representative social organizations. These
mobilizations are a continuation of those of 2019.

Faced with the plundering of neoliberal policies that are imposed on the
continent and deepen, the only alternative for the Latin American peoples is to
win the streets and deepen the struggle. We salute the brotherly people of
Ecuador and their courageous example, their courage and their rebellion, and
especially their degree of organization and coordination of the popular movement,
bringing together various expressions of it in the streets behind the same objective.

At this time, the Ecuadorian indigenous movement is making a "peace agreement"
with the Lasso government, prior to said government's acceptance to negotiate and
lower fuel prices even more, one of the main popular demands that started the
protests. The fight pays!! Only the people save the people!!
