planned a demonstration in the parking lot of the AZC Ter Apel, with the aim of

sexual orientation/gender identity, validism and the right to free existence.
This display of verbal and mental abuse is horrific, but unfortunately not
unexpected from Pegida. ---- The images of refugees who have to sleep on chairs
and not have enough to drink are burned into many people's minds. Since the
situation in Ter Apel is often in the news due to the overcrowded registration
center, many extreme messages and lies have been spread. This gives groups like
Pegida images to spread fear about the "refugee caravan" they devised. These
images are just not a good representation of the refugee situation in the
Netherlands caused by the neoliberal deterrence policy that has caused this. We
do not have a migration crisis, but a reception crisis that is directly linked to
the neglected housing policy that is perpetuated by the idea that housing should
be a market rather than a human right.

To put a stop to the growing xenophobic/Islamophobic groups that are forming, we
want to give this fear and hate culture a clear signal that this is not
acceptable. We want open borders, free movement of people and animals, a secure
future for the right to exist and an environment where everyone can be
themselves. We will never tolerate people being viewed as inferior because of
political persecution, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation/gender identity or
health of life and limb. That is why we call on 3 July at 1 pm to gather with us
in the parking lot of application center Ter Apel and stand there with us and the
refugees in solidarity against this display of hatred.

Keep an eye on the weather conditions and bring a mouth mask if you can, since
corona is still a thing. Given Pegida's past, we recommend bringing entertainment
for yourself and for the children in the application center to show how it can be
done and that they are also welcome.
