HEIs, is the result of the historical underfunding promoted by the State and by
those who have administered them. Situation that is not far from the current
crisis in the Surcolombiana University, which is reflected in the lack of
teachers, infrastructure, late hiring and the provision of services by teachers,
among other problems, which became a constant several years. ---- Faced with this
situation, from the Union of Various Trades of Neiva, of the Student and Labor
Libertarian Union-AIT, we want to express our solidarity with the students of the
USCO, whose access to a comprehensive education with decent conditions for their
academic training process. Likewise, we reject the handling that the current
administration headed by Rector Nidia Guzmán has given to this crisis, since it
tends to deepen the problems and is practically sacrificing the well-being of the
student body, workers and teachers.

Today, it is clear that the State must correct the historical financial debt it
has with HEIs. The teaching staff should be increased, hiring for the provision
of services to which many teachers are subject should be eliminated, by direct
and permanent hiring, resources allocated to university welfare should be
increased, among other needs that should be disputed in the street, organized and
with collective actions. . At the same time that progress is made in university
autonomy and scenarios are proposed so that students can directly participate in
the distribution of available resources.

Due to the above, we make a call to student organizations, groups, patches and
conscious individuals, to bet on consolidating the Student Movement, to build a
level of unity, of consensual action, that allows tracing the strategic dispute
of the Surcolombian Student Movement, which overcome the joints.

To organize ourselves on the plurality of ideas, from the political will in favor
of a transformative education, with clear flags and the horizon of the university
that we want, critical, investigative, universal, free and autonomous.
