Some time ago, we started a free creative street campaign in Prague opposing the
anti-women and obscurantist movement. The main motivation was the Americanbreakthrough in Roe v. Wade, leading to bans or fundamental restrictions on theright to abortion in a number of states there, as well as similar tendenciesthreatening women's freedom and especially health in Poland, for example. ----Our main appeal goes to the Czech Republic, where the anti-abortion pressuregroup Movement for Life operates, cynically manipulating women in difficult lifesituations and spreading various delusions both against abortion and evencontraception. In the relaxed summer mood, four banners with various slogans haveso far been put up in prominent public places. Just last Wednesday, threesix-meter sails were added.The slogan "Movement for Life: Movement Against Women" speaks for itself. Banner"11. commandment: you shall not prohibit abortion" reminds us of the clearlyproven fact that artificial termination of pregnancy can be legally complicated,but not eradicated: the only thing prohibitions achieve is to push pregnant womento solutions that threaten their health or life. And the third banner "Let'sdefend the right to abortion. prozivot.org" refers to the modified website of theMovement for Life, through which our friendly collective Nolog.cz previously drewattention to the true face of the association.Although it is masked by the particularly cynical slogan "We don't judge, wehelp", in reality it is one of many projects spread around the world trying topreach to women what they should do with their bodies in the name of religiousdoctrine. Recently, the association has not hesitated to spread delusionscontrary to scientific knowledge, which directly threaten people affected by, forexample, ectopic pregnancy. And the well-known statements of the Movement forLife recommending "pepper shakers and horns" to Ukrainian women who were raped bythe Russian occupiers are among the most disgusting things ever heard on the subject.Similar to other fundamentalists, the Movement for Life tries to maintain itsmasquerade both by manipulating and intimidating critics: the association suedthe editors of the journalistic portal A2larm.cz for an ordinary comment article.Likewise, lawyers casually threaten to ally themselves with anti-LGBTQ+ familymembers at every opportunity. From the Movement for Life, it is all the moreabsurd because it itself violates the law on social services: it offers pregnantwomen "services" that require special education and registration, which of coursethe association does not have.Dark people try to paint critics as hateful to deflect attention from theiroutrageousness. But in fact, one only has to look at the pages of the Catholicmagazine Res Claritatis, directly linked to the Movement for Life, and one willfind there disgusting outpourings against transgender people or texts depictingwomen as "naturally" subordinate to men. We refuse to stand idly by thishypocrisy and disgusting political campaign.And we invite you to do the same! There are no limits to creativity. You can makea simple banner like the one we came up with for a pittance, just any tarpaulinand spray paint, or paint and a brush. The spring issue of our A3 wall newspaperis also available, which was dedicated to the parade of regressiveness in theform of anti-abortion demonstrations - you don't need more than a printer andglue or double-sided adhesive tape to put it up. The ubiquitous posters andcitylights of the Movement for Life also encourage fun activities.
