Anti-militarism and support for the Ukrainian people were at the heart of the 4th
meeting of the International Trade Union Network for Solidarity and Struggle(RSISL), in Dijon, from April 21 to 24. ---- About 200 trade union delegates fromthe Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe attended the 4th RSISL conference. Createdin 2013, it is a coordination of organizations that recognize themselves in a"combative, struggle and democratic, autonomous, independent of bosses andgovernments, anti-capitalist, feminist, ecologist, internationalist tradeunionism, building change through collective struggles, fighting all forms ofoppression (machismo, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc.)". The RSISL isco-animated by the CSP-Conlutas (Brazil), the CGT (Spanish State,anarcho-syndicalist), the CUB (Italy) and the Union Syndicale Solidaires (France). In France, in addition to Solidaires, the CNT-SO and the inter-union tendencyEmancipation are members. Its manifesto was updated and validated unanimously.Previously, the delegations had worked on transversal themes: feminism, workers'self-management and control, migrations, repression of social movements andcolonialism. Sectoral work (railway, education, health, call centres, industry, commerce, civil service, banks, post office, etc.) has taken a large place: aswith any trade union activity, it cements the whole and allows solidarityinterpro based on a real anchoring in companies and services.Solidarity union convoyA highlight was the exchange with a Ukrainian trade union activist. Itstrengthened the resolve to support the resistance against the war of the Putinregime. The RSISL thus adopted a motion addressed to trade unionists in Ukraine: "The waragainst Ukraine began more than a month ago and, above all, we want to convey oursupport and solidarity to the Ukrainian people and its resistance. We defendtheir full sovereignty and the right of peoples toself-determination.[...]Inscribed in the continuation of the policies of theimperialist blocs (United States, Russia, China, NATO...), this criminalaggression has as culprit the Putin regime and its generals. This invasion, ledby a nuclear power, caused a colossal humanitarian crisis, millions of refugees, the destruction of the territory and thousands of deaths[...]To end the war, forpeace, we must force the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. As workers,we respond according to our possibilities to the needs expressed by our tradeunion comrades in the countries concerned. This was the meaning of the RSISLconvoy that left for Ukraine on April 29 to show solidarity.A second motion broadened the issue, opposing militarism more broadly, andadvocating disarmament: "For peace in the world, the solutions will not come fromincreasing the military budgets of states or from manufacturing 'nuclearweapons.[...]The historic demand for the dissolution of military blocs remains:we said no to the Warsaw Pact and NATO. We say no to NATO and the CSTO!Conscientious objection and refusal to serve in the military are inalienablerights.[...]We reject the increase in military spending, production and trade inarms[...]The role of Russian imperialism in the war waged today in Ukraine (andelsewhere in the world before) does not make us not to forget that of otherimperialisms, in other wars, other attacks on peoples. Starting with Americanimperialism, which we have denounced on many occasions and which we will continueto fight.[...]"Christian (Southeastern suburbs)www.laboursolidarity.orghttps://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Conference-du-RSISL-Syndicalistes-du-monde-contre-l-imperialisme-russe_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
