The focus of capitalism on profit, not on our needs, is manifested with all itsbrutality in times of the climate crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the collapseof socio-economic systems around the world. Those who profit from capitalism getrich in times of adversity. But along with the ongoing crises, we are alsoexperiencing a new era of grassroots uprisings. ---- The resistance to the war inUkraine, the Sudanese protests against the military government or the socialrevolt in Chile are examples that not only show us the possibilities oforganization and collective struggle. They also emphasize how important it is forsocial movements to learn from each other and support each other during thistime. Not only outside prisons and borders, but also within them.Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have witnessed a fierce fightagainst incarceration, reminding us that people incarcerated suffer the most whenthings go downhill. Brazilian and Italian prison breaks, prison arson inThailand, and ongoing hunger strikes like those we see in Greece or Polishrefugee camps are examples of the courage people in prisons show to tear down thewalls around them.In all these cases, anarchist ideas and values serve as fuel for collectiveresistance. It is not surprising that repression against anarchists isintensifying, and solidarity is needed more than ever. The capitalist system ofdomination can function by constantly isolating people, endless competition andignoring our real needs and desires. We need solidarity in our circles offriends, at work, in the neighborhood, in our communities. Communities outsideand inside the walls that have been erected between us.Let's destroy this prison! We again call for an International Week of Solidaritywith Imprisoned Anarchists and Anahists. Show solidarity in any way! Writeletters, organize speeches or film screenings, draw attention to our imprisonedcomrades and comrades on the streets - hang banners or do graffiti, use directaction.
