The CGT is calling for rallies tomorrow at the Labor Inspectorate of Barcelona
and Lleida against inaction in the face of heat stroke deaths. ---- This Tuesday,July 26, the CGT is calling for rallies at the Labor Inspectorate in Barcelona(10:30 C/Travessera de Gràcia 303) and in Lleida (11:00 C/Riu Besòs, 2). ---- Thereason is to denounce the non-compliance of companies and administrations withworking regulations in extreme temperature conditions, which have recently beencausing deaths and hospitalizations of workers or dismissals for demanding waterand breaks. Faced with this situation, the Labor Inspectorate acts with laxityand understanding towards companies. As an example of this there is the complaintmade by the CGT against the ambulance company Falck, with numerous vehicleswithout air conditioning and demonstrable interior temperatures of more than40°C. It is not only an attack against the workforce but against the populationitself, which has to be moved with conditions that can aggravate the delicatestate of the sick.They are not isolated or inevitable events. Public administrations look the otherway, while their privatized services are squeezed by unscrupulous companies.These denunciation and protest actions are being carried out in a coordinated wayby the CGT throughout the state.
