 In June, UCL groups from Orléans, Lyon, Grenoble and Grand-Paris sud hosted an

anarchist South African hip-hop group, Soundz of the South. The collective, which
has existed since 2008, wants to contribute to the "construction of an
anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, anti-racist and anti-sexist international
working class counter-culture". ---- Indeed, the end of apartheid did not put an
end to capitalism, nor to violence to maintain the exploitation of the black
proletariat by a now multicolored bourgeoisie. Throughout their albums, Freedom
Warriors (vol. 1, 2, 3 and 4), they and they evoke for example the strikes of
agricultural workers in Cape Town, the police assassination of Andries Tatane, an
extreme left , in 2011, and of course the Marikana massacre in 2012, during which
34 striking miners were machine-gunned by the police.

Landed from Hamburg on June 11 in Paris, the four musicians won the federal
premises of the UCL in Paris 19th, before heading to the Anti-racism solidarity
demonstration, not far from there. They and they then took the road to Orléans,
Lyon and Grenoble before returning to play at the Dissident club, in Paris 9th. A
somewhat improvised but exciting mini-tour.

Together with Kenyan and Zimbabwean colleagues, Soudz of the South has already
toured Africa as part of an "Afrikan hip hop Caravan". Their arrival in Germany
in June motivated them to make a detour via France.
