CNP agents assured, by identifying several anarcho-syndicalists, that they would
not sanction anyone, however they ended up applying the Gag Law ---- The GeneralConfederation of Labor (CGT) has issued a statement in which it expresses itstotal rejection of the fines of several colleagues from the Valencian territorialwho were sanctioned in the context of the peaceful demonstration called for May1, International Day of the Working Class. ---- According to theanarcho-syndicalist organization, these comrades were carrying smoke canisters, with the colors of the anarcho-syndicalist flag (red and black), which they litduring the demonstration on the morning of May Day. On Calle de la Paz, someagents of the National Police reported that this type of object could not be usedand that for "security" they had to identify those who carried them, althoughthey assured that they would not punish any of these people for it.After three months, and according to the anarcho-syndicalist organization, thefines after the identifications that morning have been received by severalcolleagues. The amount of each of them amounts to 601 euros, and they are theresult of the application of the Law for the Protection of Citizen Security (GagLaw).CGT has stated that it will not pay a single euro of these sanctions, among otherthings because these identifications occurred in a peaceful context, to peoplewho were doing nothing but exercising their fundamental rights on theInternational Day of the Working Class. In addition, smoke canisters are oftenused in very different events and acts, including protest rallies ordemonstrations such as the May Day.CGT has also stressed that these circumstances come to corroborate who and whatthe Gag Law is for. The anarcho-syndicalists consider that this law, since it wasapproved by the PP in 2015, has only served to repress people who fight for theirrights and freedoms in an organized way. A law, according to CGT, that promisedto repeal the political formations that are currently in the Spanish Government, but that also serves them now to contain the mobilizations.More information: Carmen Arnaiz (Sª Acción Social de CGT): 689 889 786.https://cgt.org.es/cgt-no-pagara-las-multas-impuestas-por-la-policia-nacional-el-pasado-1o-de-mayo-en-valencia/Macarena Amores GarciaPress office of the Confederal Committee of the CGTGeneral Confederation of Labor - CGTC/Sagunto 15, 1º28010 MadridTel. 91 447 57 69Mobile 690 640 826cabinetprensa@cgt.org.es_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
