Rally of the Osnabrück Alliance against price increases - on October 22, 2022 at2 p.m. - Rosenburg ---- While most of us are tightening our belts due to risingprices, banks, energy companies, supermarkets and many others have all maderecord profits in the last three months. But we should take a back seat, wearjackets in the apartment in winter and take a cold shower after exercising. ----Politicians present all these interventions in people's lives as withoutalternative - that's total nonsense! Contrary to many representations from themedia and politics, majorities in Germany are in favor of redistributing wealth.It is more than audacious that the population is being called on to give up whileredistribution is not even being discussed. Even the package of measures that wasrecently adopted is not even remotely sufficient to cushion the consequences ofthe crisis.Therefore we demand:Affordable and capped prices for groceries and everyday needs - so that everyonehas enough food!Freeze rents and suspend evictions!Ensure basic electricity and gas supply for everyone. No blocking in case of arrears!Increase benefits such as Hartz IV, BAföG, child benefit, basic pension, needsrates for refugees and the minimum wage and regularly adjust them to inflation!Higher wages for everyone!No increase in health insurance contributions!100 percent taxation of excess profits!Socialize energy companies!Reintroduce wealth tax, increase inheritance tax!Rapid expansion of public transport, unlimited extension of the €9 ticket andaffordable mobility for everyone!It's not enough just to complain, we want to come together and act. Together wewill take the demands to the streets, express our anger and put pressure onbusiness and politics. We would also like to offer a space in which people canactively participate and discuss solidarity solutions to this crisis. Among otherthings, we want to deal specifically with how local structures that offer peoplesupport can be created or strengthened here in Osnabrück. Let's organizepractical solidarity - we don't have to get through the winter cold and lonely!The Osnabrück Alliance against Price Increases is an alliance of solidarity,consisting of groups and individuals from Osnabrück.We are demonstrating together against the skyrocketing prices for energy andother everyday goods and against passing on the costs of war and crisis to thepeople, across different political and ideological views. We are against war andrearmament!We are committed to social justice and practice practical solidarity regardlessof origin, residence status, skin color, nationality, gender or sexualorientation. This includes fighting hunger, poverty, low wages and precariousemployment. We advocate affordable housing and an intact environment.We are against a bottom-up redistribution. Instead, we demand that the rich andprofiteers pay for the crisis(s)! The crisis can only be overcome in solidarityand with all people together!
