Similar to last year, a protest event will be held in front of the Polish embassy
in Ostrava this year, this time in the form of an anti-fascist march for humanrights. ---- The event will take place under the auspices of the AmnestyInternational Ostrava collectives, the Ostrava Prajda, the Gendertlachy andAdriana feminist groups, and the Ciocia Czesia movement. The event is alsoactively supported by the Ostrava Anarchist Federation, whose members willundoubtedly be present at the event. ---- The date November 11 is not accidental.On that day, the flourishing of the local ultra-right regularly meets in Poland,from Catholics and conservatives to forged neo-Nazis, to celebrate IndependenceDay. Together they then drag through the city, shouting racist slogans andattacking passers-by. At the same time, the fascisization of society in the formof attacks on the LGBT community and the criminalization of abortion is growingin Poland itself.As the organizers themselves write, "it's been over two years since abortionswere almost completely restricted in Poland. Poland's misogynistic government hasthe blood of dozens of people on its hands as a result. However, it does not endwith abortion, nor does it begin. Anti-LGBT+ zones, absurd laws due to whichactivists stand trial for the defense of human rights, influencing courts andpublic media, inhumane treatment of refugees and hateful expressions ofpoliticians towards queer people. The Polish government is directly responsiblefor the hate violence.
