Did the police not do their job properly on August 8th, 2022 when they shot
Mouhamed Dramé in Dortmund? No, she did exactly what she is there for: engagingin oppressive violence (in this case, racist and anti-mental) violence. Thepolice were established about 150 years ago to maintain slavery or the colonialsystem and to prevent uprisings/resistance by the poor and generally oppressed.This task is still at its core today. Everything else is only secondary andmainly serves to expand their influence (+ that of the state in general). ----The police secure the state-capitalist, colonial and patriarchal order. In ourworld, which is characterized by extreme inequality because of this order, itprevents the oppressed/the below from self-organizing, fighting for betterconditions or even destroying the institutions of this order.For this, suffering and trauma must be created that takes away the strength andresources to resist. It takes control and violence. This includes deadly force.The police are fundamentally racist, nationalist, ableist ("hostile to thedisabled"), sexist, anti-queer, classist ("hostile to the poor") andauthoritarian. The killing of Mouhamed was therefore not a mistake in the systemand this system cannot be reformed either. Nor will the state disarm the policeor "defund the police" because it depends on their violence to maintain its rule.Millions of people have been murdered, tortured, displaced, violently attacked,robbed and imprisoned by the police and the state. There is a choice to be madeas to whether to protect these institutions (by raising false hopes of reform) orget rid of them. We made this decision: for thousands of years people have livedtogether without police and, contrary to what the myth of progress suggests,often much better than in today's society, especially in times of colonialism andclimate catastrophe. Let's take responsibility for each other together, treateach other equally in conflicts, attacks through a culture of caring anddefending ourselves against oppression together! And above all, recognize theknowledge of (e.g. indigenous and black) communities that organize without police!We call on you to take part in the "Justice4Mouhamed against deadly policeviolence" demo on November 19th, 2022 and to make it clear together that we wantthe police to stop doing their job!
