Dear friends, Thank you for subscribing to our soon-to-launch LGBT rights newsletter, and thank you for taking our related survey a few months back. Your responses are helping us create what we hope is the best newsletter for you. We also wanted to apologize for our newsletter being behind schedule, as we told you it would launch in October. The good news is, you can expect our newsletter, The Agenda, in your inbox come early 2023, and it will be packed with the hard-hitting research and analysis you look for from us. In the meantime, we have been continuing our work protecting LGBT rights worldwide. We recently helped spread the word about a harmful new bill in Poland that threatens sex education, including about sexual and gender identity, and we decried Indonesia’s new penal code, which violates the rights of many people–and LGBT people in particular–by effectively rendering same-sex conduct illegal. Also, as many of you noted in the survey that you want more good news stories, we thought we’d share the inspiring news that a Japanese trans woman recently won a workplace harassment case, and that the US Congress recently passed a law safeguarding same-sex and interracial marriages. We couldn’t do this work without you and your support. Thank you for being part of our LGBT rights community, and you will hear from us soon. Sincerely, Graeme Reid Director Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights Program |
