from Rome, Palermo, Turin, Milan, Pisa, Bologna, Trieste, Modena... ---- Below
are some excerpts from the call for the strike: ---- "In Italy, the only OECD
where wages are lower than 30 years ago, the generalized increase in the prices
of basic necessities and electricity and gas bills, together with the explosion
of inflation now above 11% (...15% for the popular classes), are bringing
millions of people below the poverty line. ---- It is in this context that most
of the support has gone to large companies rather than to workers, pensioners and
the unemployed, while there has been a sensational increase in military spending.

It is time to organize and mobilize against the war, against the cost of living
and to stop the attack on wages and the increase in social inequalities. Other
than a flat tax, a cut in the tax wedge, the cancellation of the citizen's income
and a reduction in public services, a counter-reform of the school system and a
further cut in public health: we need to hit the large estates accumulated over
decades; the crisis must no longer be paid for by the workers, the unemployed and
the lower classes, but by the bosses and by large industrial and financial
capital, which in recent years has continued uninterruptedly to make profits and
enrich itself.
While speculation goes crazy and takes away more than 40 billion just with the
extra profits on gas, they tell us that there are no resources to defend our
wages and salaries: in the meantime, past and present governments (yesterday
Draghi, today Meloni ) repress and criminalize social and union struggles. It's
time to say enough!
The escalation of war and the imminent danger of using tactical nuclear weapons
must push us to act, here and now, against the war, and to impose a stop on the
shipment of weapons to Ukraine. Without peace it will be very difficult to get
out of an economic crisis which is paid for, as always, by the workers and the
less well-off classes throughout Europe. (...)

Rojava. The Turkish attack, the solidarity of the movements
"On the night of November 9, the lands of Rojava and southern Kurdistan were
bombed by TSK (Turkish Army) aircraft. The YPG announced that the Kobane city
center, a hospital on Mistenur hill, the Kobane forest, a power plant, granaries
and many villages were bombed. The invaders, who have been unsuccessful with
chemical weapons and numerous invasion operations for months, have directed their
efforts this time against Rojava, the land of the revolution."
This is the incipit of the press release of the Karala group/magazine of Ankara
on the start of the bombing of Kobane.
Today Turkey, which uses weapons also sold by Italy, wants to turn back the
clock, destroy the revolutionary process that began in 2012, massacre and force
into exile the Kurdish populations.
Erdogan's neo-Ottoman project is regaining momentum, thanks to the support
offered by the European Union, which pays for war refugees to be detained in
Turkey, and to the role of mediator in the war in Ukraine that Erdogan has played
for himself in recent months.
In recent days everywhere there have been initiatives in support of the
experience of democratic confederalism.
We talked about it with Dario, a teammate who knows the situation in the area well.
