2. Fascism in Russia
It is very important not to have illusions about the nature of the current
Russian regime. It is fascist, in the truest sense of the word, without any
insults or metaphors. Laws have already been adopted for criminalizing LGBT
propaganda for all ages, and publishing houses and bookstores are already being
ordered to remove books that contain at least some hint of "non-traditional
values". We will keep silent about the conduct of an aggressive war of conquest,
and so everything is clear.

And of course, the Kremlin is strengthening its cooperation with authoritarian
and dictatorial regimes around the world. For example, in gratitude for the
supply of missiles and drones for the war in Ukraine, Putin will help Iranian
fundamentalists in power put down a popular uprising . The opinion of the
Iranians themselves, of course, does not bother the Kremlin. Well, Iranian cops
killed a girl for wearing a hijab of the wrong shape, well, think about it. But
they are mentally close, and gays are banned too. Everything is like Vladimir
Vladimirovich and his comrades love.

3. Scandal with " Rain "
This understanding of the fascist nature of the Kremlin regime is also important
for the correct interpretation of the recent scandal with the Dozhd TV channel.
As you know, the liberal opposition "Rain" moved to Latvia after the start of the
war. And on one of the broadcasts, the live presenter said something in the
spirit of "we hope that many military personnel, including us, were able to help,
for example, with equipment and simply with basic amenities at the front." All
this in the context, as it were " collection of information about violations
during criminal and senseless mobilization in the Russian Federation " , as the
editor-in-chief of the TV channel put it.

Naturally, such a phrase was interpreted as a call to help the soldiers of the
Russian army, and caused a scandal. Although the presenter was fired, the channel
was still fined by the Latvian authorities and its future in Latvia is in question.

Of course, we are not very concerned about the opinion of any governments,
including the Latvian one. But, as it were, the host's slip of the tongue
actually shows a trend.

We see approximately the same thing in other liberal opposition initiatives (for
example, among Navalny's followers). Briefly, this can be described as "let's fix
the system." That is, let's fight corruption, facilitate the imprisonment of
stealing officials, participate in Putin's "elections" in order to put at least
some relatively decent people in local parliaments, and so on. In the case of
"detection of violations during mobilization", this can be seen even better. The
desire to "identify and eliminate violations during mobilization" looks very
strange. This is to make it go better, or what?

It seems that a normal person does not exactly want the mobilization to go
smoothly. On the contrary, it is in the interests of both anarchists and, in
general, of anyone who wants freedom in Russia, that mobilization go as hard as
possible, through a stump-deck, with problems, protests, and that as much money
as possible be stolen from it. Because everything that was not stolen will be
used one way or another for missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. And even more
operations in Ukraine will be done by candlelight. And even more children will
die. So it's better if Russian soldiers buy uniforms at their own expense and use
pads instead of footcloths - so their military effectiveness will be less.

Yes, the media can report on how the mobilization is going, what is going on
there. It may even be useful for building up anti-war sentiment. But this has
nothing to do with "help", it's just informing readers. And all these
reservations with "help" show that Dozhd and other liberal opposition are still
under the illusion that the Russian state machine needs to be touched up, tinted,
and everything will be fine.

No, it will not. We do not want to "repair" this system or "correct violations"
in it. Putin's state itself is a complete violation of basic human rights and
common sense. It needs to be destroyed, not repaired. As they said in 1968, " We
will not demand or ask for anything: we will take and seize " .

Anti-war speeches are the real struggle against fascism inside Russia, and not
"documenting violations of laws during mobilization." And we are not fans of the
Ukrainian state, but if the loss in the Ukrainian war helps the destruction of
Putin's quasi-reich, then it would be better if the Ukrainian army wins as soon
as possible. And so that fewer people die at the same time, once again, do not go
to war. It doesn't matter if you are being dragged there under a contract, either
by mobilization or by conscription. Being in the ranks of the imperial army
during an aggressive war is dangerous for your life.

4. Edward Snowden received Russian citizenship
Interesting news, meanwhile: Russian citizenship was received by Edward Snowden,
who in 2013 revealed to the world a scheme of total surveillance by American
intelligence services on the Internet. He worked for the US NSA and was forced to
flee first to Hong Kong and then to seek political asylum in Russia. He is still
in Russia.

Usually we laugh at the phrase "everything is not so simple", but here is really
such a case. Snowden really did a very important thing and for very noble
reasons. His leaks led to a big scandal and to some limitation of mass
surveillance on the Internet. In addition, they contributed to public attention
to strong cryptography: the fact that we now have several good popular instant
messengers with normal end-to-end encryption is also largely due to Snowden.

At the same time, it is very clear from his twitter that now there are taboo
topics for him. He does not touch on the war in Ukraine and the crimes of the
Russian regime at all, but he writes a lot about the American authorities. And he
writes the right things. But it is not surprising that in the comments there are
a lot of sarcastic questions about love for Putin or "Edward, when to the draft
board and to the front?".

Clearly, Snowden has little choice. His American passport has been revoked and
his travel options around the world are severely limited. In the US or any of the
US allies, he faces a life sentence. In fact, he is stuck in Russia and, of
course, runs the risk of being turned over to the US for some kind of concession
as soon as he says anything against Putin. That is, he is useful to the Kremlin
only as long as he does not criticize the Kremlin. We highly doubt that Snowden
likes the war in Ukraine, but he really can't say anything about it.

You don't envy him. And, of course, it is important to remember that there are
such non-black-and-white situations where "everything is ambiguous." Rarely, but
there are.

5. Strikes in Yandex-Food
Politics grows out of economics. And even in the fascist political regime, the
struggle of hired workers for their rights does not stop. November 25 Moscow
couriers "Yandex-Food" went on strike for 3 days - from Friday to Sunday.
Couriers from Voronezh, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg also take part in the
strike. Couriers oppose appalling working conditions. And they are already
seeking concessions from the owner ... that is, the employer.

The Kurier trade union believes that it is extremely important to conduct
activities in an organized and joint manner in the fight against aggregators, and
also encourages couriers to coordinate and write to the bot of their telegram
channel .
