On February 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, the 2nd conference on syndicalist feminism was
held at the Reina Sofía museum in Madrid under the motto TO ORGANIZE IS TO BEGINTO WIN ---- If a compa calls you and tells you «Do you hear you want to tell inthe newspaper what happened in Laboratoria?» you are suddenly aware of the veryimportant process in which we are participating. ---- The first days conferencesand debates were held under the title: ---- Community experiences in the capitallife conflict The experience of the general strike and debate Communityorganizing, syndicalist feminism. The revolving doors of the working poor. Andthen the weekend, the union school, where we learned things like union models,union action, communications and slogans, conflict negotiation.There we were able to listen to speakers such as Rafaela Pimentel from TerritorioDoméstico, Luisa Campel (activist), Nuria Soto from Ridersx Derecho, ValéryAlzaya (American Chicana unionist) together with our colleagues Alba Moreno andJara Gonzales.Critical voices of current feminism also participated, such as the activist JustaMontero, or the lawyer Pastora Filigrana, who also energized the generalassembly. All these days conclude on the 20th at the FAL headquarters with alarge general assembly.All this is undoubtedly the result of the feminist general strikes, of themanifestos of the 8M assembly where the union comrades have been present,elaborating and contributing class discourse to the labor demands, but it was toosmall for so many voices eager to organize and struggle. The most precarious,those abandoned by the system and "bourgeois unionism", have decided to organizeand hit the boss hard. In Laboratoria all are getting together, women anddissidents, racialized, immigrants, associations of prostitutes and they havecome together and mainly request RESPECT, MUTUAL SUPPORT, TRAINING AND COORDINATION.In Laboratoria we spoke from the heart, from the desperation of very precariouslives and very punishedIf during the first year we were a bit rebound, but being present at all times(they have interviewed us, they have studied our union model), in this secondyear we have played an important role. Our union model fits perfectly in a worldwhere women want to organize around employment. That is why the compañeras of theCNT listen to us and welcome us with great affection.When we talk about feminism among women, we talk about a lot of violence that weexperience, violence that we cannot separate in the world of work and in ourlives. In Laboratoria they spoke from the heart, from the desperation of veryprecarious and highly punished lives. And since we did it from the inside out, Iwould like to review an intervention that impacted the union comrades who werepresent, when a day laborer comrade from Almeria said "we are so tired that wecan't even think." Can you imagine the compi working in the sun almost all day,raising, fighting and screwing to reach the end of the month with a body full ofpain and surely having to endure the persecution, from who knows who, for beingan organized woman? My heart shrinks and as a woman activist no one can imaginewhat goes through my head with that rage.That is syndicalist feminism, that is what the women of the CNT are trying to do.We talk about transversality, because we cannot separate our lives from ourstruggles.At Laboratoria we have to highlight the voices of the migrant comrades who say"the feminism that does not want to throw out the immigration law is not myfeminism." Without that social conquest, how are we going to combat the economicinequalities that are suffered when you have neither the same nor hardly anyrights as a human person, that sometimes you have to sneak out so that policeviolence and persecution do not fall on you, and That day you can take yoursalary home. It is very strong that you go out to street vendors, junk, to takecare of children or elderly people from other families, or that you go out tolook for a life in the Marconi estate and come back with a beating, that theysteal what you have earned and point out with more stigma than you have and alsothat you cannot make use of bourgeois justice, because on top of that the one whocan be retaliated against will be you, imprisoned or expelled for being"illegal", and you don't know if you will return home or fall in a CIES.Translating our propaganda, training, accompanying migrants in regularizationprocesses, taking care of them in the face of police aggression and persecution,all these issues are what are needed to move towards the intersectionality ofpeople, which will only be an expression if we do not put these things intopractice in our organizations, we will remain only in theory.We went to Laboratoria to learn and not only to present, but we lacked time tolisten more to the colleagues who attended. We had the opportunity to participatein two workshops of the trade union school that were Negotiation of conflicts andTrade union models: the profile of the compañeras who attended the sessions asspeakers is with experience having been in union sections in the companies,experiencing union conflicts, even for union repression, in addition to havingparticipated in the organic life of the CNT in different ways, and also infeminist circles. Nobody imagines the backpack that the compañeras of the CNTcarry and the gigs that we have behind to be in those spaces. The exposure of thecolleagues in question of the trade union model was spectacular in the words ofthose attending said training, but there was no time, especially to listen to theattendees. They shared a table with the Kellys, who were super luxurious asalways to be with them, and with CGT who presented the organization from thecompany committees.Syndicalist feminism, which we women of the CNT try to do, speaks oftransversality, because we cannot separate our lives from our strugglesWe were able to talk about mutual support, direct action, working horizontally.The companions showed a lot of interest in the way we have to carry the SP alwayslooking for the relief without chaining ourselves to the chair. They also foundthe format of working groups that we were forming according to needs andaccording to territory to be very interesting. We talked about our legalresources and the legal parameters in which we move, we had time to clear updoubts and ghosts about how to fight without the works council, or even what todo if you have it against you, which unfortunately sometimes happens.Nobody can tell the compañeras from other territories what the differentLaboratories that are created will be like in the future. We already know whatdifferent realities are like. An 8M compi said "they have been stealing spacesfrom us where we can listen to each other and where we can talk about all theviolence that affects us", for example, the unrecognized occupational diseases ofthe Kellys, caused by abusers and harassers when you work in domestic and care work .And it is that women and dissidents have faced many more struggles and laborconquests, struggles that have been given little publicity, textile strikes,canneries, cigarette companies... But we must recognize that in recent timeswomen have successfully experienced organize the feminist general strikes and wecannot forget that.
