The Nupes is a young coalition of old, more or less reactionary parties. After
six months of existence, this group seeks to take the lead of the social movementwhile the different components of the Nupes contribute to social damage. ---- Atthe time of the social return and the various initiatives to fight against thealways accelerated breakage of the social gains, a first assessment of theneo-reformist strategy of the Nupes seems to be in order. While the latter seeksto lead the social movement by its march "against the high cost of living", whatis really, in action, of the strategies and the application of a so-calledprogram of rupture of the different actors in this alliance of French-style softreformism ? ---- If the media agitation from which LFI can benefit gives it theaura of being the only "extreme left" political force, after the smoke screen,the Nupes in power gives to see a reality far from social, ecological,anti-capitalist and progressive ideas. Evidenced by the signing of an agreementwith the SNCF, for example, which records the reduction in the budget allocatedto operations, a classic strategy for carrying out privatization. Theprivatization of the TER network in the Centre-Val de Loire region was votedunanimously by the regional council held by Nupes (PS-PCF-EELV-LFI). Same thing,in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region where part of the components of the Nupes(PS and EELV, the PCF having opposed the latter) voted for privatization.At the local level, the feats of arms of the components of the Nupes are not muchbetter. To cite just a few examples, the town hall of Bordeaux (headed by theecologist Pierre Hurmic) continues to ignore the numerous prefectural evictionsof squats, putting dozens of families back on the street (more than 800 peoplesince the beginning of summer). The town hall, preferring to deny itsresponsibilities, refuses in municipal council the requisition of empty housingbelonging to the municipality.In Nantes, the mayor (Johanna Rolland, PS), welcomes Darmanin's desire to act onthe construction of an administrative detention center (CRA) in her city. Worsehere, the components of Nupes make the link between increased crime andundocumented people, rhetoric traditionally reserved for the right of thepolitical spectrum. More generally, the Nupes has recently distinguished itselfon a catastrophic management of cases of gender-based and sexual violence (SGBV).While in the case of Taha Bouhafs, the LFI staff was very quick to condemn theex-candidate accused of several serious acts of VSS, we regret that theresponsiveness is not the same when it comes to relatives of Mélenchon, and thatthey are white.New name, same reaction methodWorse still, most of the high-ranking members of the movement (Mélenchon in thelead) preferred to relativize the accusations, and participate in theanti-feminist backlash of the moment. Alongside this catastrophic management areadded other more than questionable reactions, such as this summer when LFIrefused anti-validist activists to intervene during their summer universities onthis theme, confirming a violent and excluding validist vision. , as evidenced bythe battle horse around the reintegration of unvaccinated caregivers or the voteon the amendment making medical teleconsultations almost impossible. We couldalso cite the campist positions of the movement vis-à-vis the war in Ukraine andthe vagueness maintained concerning Putin's Russia.These few examples should serve as a salutary reminder to us of the hope thatNupes can represent in a period of rise of the far right and the fascisation ofthe French state which is only accelerating. Apart from the fact that thisalliance has made it possible to keep alive the reactionary party that is the PSand that it is now seeking to take the lead in social protest, we must not befooled by the betrayals already underway or to come from the reformist forces inthis country. The revolutionaries' critique of electoralist strategies exists forthis reason.
