On October 30, Brazil elected its new president. With a narrow victory from the
broad front represented by the Lula-Alckmin ticket, the result ignited thespirits of supporters on both sides. It is therefore important to revisit whathas brought us to this point in order to understand our tasks as anarchists inthis next period. ---- First, contrary to what the bourgeois media and theparties of order say, bolsonarist agitation develops insofar as there is no classmobilization in the streets and workplaces to deal with it. The vast majority ofleft-wing parties, under the umbrella of the PT, position themselves as defendersof the bourgeois order and act as a brake on struggles[...]. Since thefar-right's electoral victory in 2018, it has become clear that the choice of alarge part of the Brazilian left is to bet on the continued wear and tear of thethen president, aiming for the 2022 polls[.. .].Rebuilding the left through strugglesThis strategic choice led to the tactic of leading a "broad front"[...]whichdevelops and culminates in the choice of Geraldo Alckmin as vice-president andthe support of large sectors of the dominant classes[.. .]. This choice hasobviously imposed limits on any mobilization and pushes the political debate tothe right.[...]What will the next period look like? A Lula-Alckmin government facing aninternational crisis, a destroyed Brazilian economy, a Congress supported by theCentrão and a strong Bolsonarism, focused on mobilizing its bases. Not only willthe counter-reforms not be revoked, but others, of great interest to the sectordefending neoliberal agendas and the preservation of the privileges of a certainsocial class, will be able to progress. And any attempt to mobilize the working classes risks coming up againstopposition from the summits of the major trade union and social movements, withthe argument that the struggles could reinforce Bolsonarism. We believe it is necessary to build a revolutionary alternative that opposesconciliation and prioritizes direct action over institutional conflict. We willwork to make anarchism an important force[...]capable of forcing political agendas. We will continue to act in the workplace, in the unions, on the housing andeducation fronts. It is urgent to build a Front of the oppressed classes, tocrush the extreme right in the street, to unmask the liberals and to overcome theimmobility encouraged by a large part of the left !Excerpt from the press release of the Organização Anarquista SocialismoLibertário, São Paulohttps://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?91-Bresil-Ecraser-l-extreme-droite-par-la-lutte-et-l-action-directe_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
