The regime of the Islamic Republic has chosen as usual to bloodily suppress the
unprecedented movement of "Woman - Life - Freedom" which began after theassassination of Mahsa Amini in Iran on September 16. ---- The estimate of ahuman rights organization is 520 dead in street protests, including 70 peopleunder the age of 18, provisional figures from January 12. ---- The various forcesof repression arrested more than 19,000 protesters, either in the street or athome. Several political prisoners have lost their lives under atrocious torture.The judiciary has not been idle either and has organized completely unfair andsummary trials. There have already been four executions by hanging: MohsenShekari, 23, on December 8, Majidreza Rahnavard, 23, on December 12, MohammadMehdi Karami, 22, and Mohammad Hosseini, 22, on January 7.At dawn on January 9 two other executions were scheduled against MohammadBoroughani and Mohammad Ghobadlou. But, following the call of Ghobadlou's mother,a night rally was held in front of the prison. The judiciary has announced thatBoroughani's execution is not on the agenda, but that the regime can executeGhobadlou at any time.The list of political prisoners arrested in the current movement in Iran andsentenced to death included 22 names as of January 10.MEPs have sponsored or sponsored political prisoners in Iran.
