joined the fight for Lützerath on site. ---- Lützerath or affectionately known as
"Lützi" is one of the current hubs of the climate justice movement in Germany.

---- Since RWE had the L277 road torn down in 2020 and thus crossed the symbolic
red line, more and more resistant structures have been built up in Lützerath.
With the proclamation of "Day X" on January 3rd, these structures are under acute
threat of eviction and demolition. ---- Lützerath has not only become a home for
many people in recent years, but also a place of togetherness, learning and
fighting together in solidarity. In the resulting structures and networks, a wide
variety of people oppose the exploitative structures of the state and capital.
In addition to its transnational reach, one of the strengths of the protest is
the variety of actions, from human chains and sit-ins to long-term occupations,
sabotage and burning barricades. In addition, with the so-called "ZAD Rheinland"
a global place was created where struggles are brought together and spaces for
exchange are opened, e.g. with comrades from the Zapatista movement or from Iran.
The range of the protest is also used to draw attention to global struggles
worldwide and to show solidarity with them.

When I stand today in Lützerath on the edge of the opencast mine, a cold, dusty
wind blows up from the 300m deep shithole and the massive excavator shovels eat
up the earth piece by piece, I not only see the destruction in front of me but
also think of the free space I had fought for my back, solidarity and the legacy
of global struggles in social movements.
It is worth defending all of this together and resolutely throwing it at the
exploitative system!

So get organized, form affinity groups, plan a trip to Lützerath or do solidarity
