Sowe welcome our AIT colleagues from all over Ireland. Health!. ---- Click onhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz7LltH2AmI to see the interview with one of thecolleagues sent as delegates to the Congress by the Irish organization "Organise!"Below we attach a brief analysis of the first session of the InternationalCongress, where the accession of the Irish anarcho-syndicalist organization wasdiscussed:"The 28th Congress of the AIT took place from December 9 to 11 in Alcoy, Spain. The IWA Congresses are held every three years: the last one took place in 2019 inMelbourne, Australia. There we decided that the Centennial Congress would be heldin Spain, hosted by our Section, the CNT-AIT. The comrades from Spain chose thecity of Alcoy to host the celebration. This election was significant, as we willexplain later, and it turned out to be an excellent place to hold our Congress.Delegations from most AIT Sections arrived (although some delegates were notallowed to travel to the Schengen area). We were received with the greatestcamaraderie and hospitality by our hosts in Spain, who had also prepared a seriesof events to accompany the Congress. Before the Congress there were concerts, book presentations and a visit withhistorical information on the Oil Revolution. For those who don't know, this is avery significant event in labor history in 1873, when the workers of the SpanishRegional Federation of the International Workers' Association staged a revoltand, for a time, took control of the city before to be brutally repressed. Suchevents were part of the rich legacy of the libertarian labor movement in Spain, which ultimately led to the founding of the CNT in 1910.As usual, the agenda of the Congress was quite extensive and contained numerousitems related to issues such as improving the internal functioning of theInternational, welcoming new members into the Federation, creating and/orpresenting the work of groups hands-on work and projects, discussion, jobrotation and much more. One of the first items on the Agenda concerned membership, so we are pleased toannounce that our colleagues from Ireland, from "Organise" have joined as Friendsof the AIT. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation."https://alasbarricadas.org/noticias/node/51017_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
