After long and laborious negotiations, the government has prepared its budget
which for at least two thirds is blocked by the previous Draghi government whichin fact set the maneuver in a conservative perspective of public finances so asnot to frighten the markets. The remaining quarter of the maneuver satisfies theidentity ambitions of this government and its need for social inequality and wewill focus our attention on it. ---- The flagship intervention is the one againstthe basic income not only for the political rye towards the 5 stars but for themessage on work it sends. Work is a commodity, and must be treated as such: it isnot a right, because one can and must die of hunger;it is not liberated becauseit is a commodity and the price and conditions are set by the masters. In thename of need it cannot be rejected and there is no dignity. If space remains formigrant work, for underpaid and exploited work, it must be distributed among the"employable" poor, the disabled, the sick, the elderly and so on. And if anaverage of three workers per day fall in the workplace, dead crushed, shredded, mangled by infamous working conditions, never mind: it's the price to pay.But there are also privileged categories: it starts with 12 amnesties, with whichsmall and large tax evaders are rewarded, with tax legislation that facilitatesillegal work, evasion and avoidance, hoping that the clandestine criminal economyand submerged face towing the country's GDP.The lack of qualified job prospectsand decent wages drives those who are young to seek better prospects inemigration and the solution to collective problems is sought by those who can doit and have the strength to do so in the individual solution of fleeing.A country folded in on itselfOne has the impression of witnessing a country, a suspended society, waiting tosee what happens. A society addicted to the pandemic, which has become endemic, which continues to reap 600 deaths a week while the data is hidden, with anincreasingly collapsing health system that has seen budget resources shrink whilescary gaps open up in the paramedical sector , medical and facilities. But it is not only health care but also the territory that is heading towardscollapse, increasingly devastated by climatic events, increasingly full ofnon-healable wounds, while a strange calm seems to reign in the face of a dull, sleepy left, incapable of opposition which simply undergoes while the countryseems to be waiting for whateveryone knows that the long-term effect of the injection of resources fromEurope will presumably last until spring and that we will begin to dance as soonas the looming economic crisis begins to bite.We have not fully seen the effects of the war but its becoming chronic isprofoundly shifting the political axis of the whole of Europe and the world indirections that we are unable to glimpse for the moment but which will impose asqueeze on consumption on all countries and a contraction of the economy thatwill lead the various areas of the world towards recession, and all this in aninternational panorama in which the left in general has lost all planningcapacity, its own vision of the world to propose. In this dark December of 2022, the future appears very uncertain and withoutprospects while massacres and holocausts are painstakingly consumed, while thelives of thousands of young women and men are extinguished in Iran as inAfghanistan, while death and violence are consumed in the piecemeal world warthat upsets the world from the plains of Ukraine to the forests of Africa andLatin America, from the ruins of Syrian cities, to the massacres of the Kurdishpeople, divided, fragmented into a thousand states, from Russian villagesdeserted by the dead sown on the frozen battlefields of Ukraine.Despite every effort and every desire for peace, we fail to find an opportunityfor hope and optimism other than trying to start fresh from the little things, from the fight against injustice and for a more just world, built step by step onevery occasion, as desperate need for freedom and justice. The editorial staffhttp://www.ucadi.org/2023/01/02/il-melondraghi/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
