There is actualy no need anymore to introduce worldstar pianist Vadym Kholodenko.
The Ukrainian pianist is the winner of the renowned Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, 2013 where he captivated audiences and critics for his mesmerizing and exhilarating performances. Vadym Kholodenko is one of the most musically dynamic and technically gifted young pianists of nowadays, and has performed across the globe.
It is on Friday 17 March that we have the honor welcoming the young musician in Brussels, with a program entirely dedicated to F. Chopin.
Vadym Kholodenko chooses to devote the whole first part of the concert to a series of Mazurkas: Op. 63, 56, 41 and 30 - the famous Polish folk dance-based miniatures, often highly poetic, and the most numerous group of works by F. Chopin.
After the break, he starts with the lyrical Nocturne Op. 27, Nr. 1 whereafter he concludes with the Piano Sonata Nr. 3, Op. 58, considered to be one of Chopin's most difficult compositions, both technically and musically.
