For 18 months a far-right bookshop "Les Arts Enracinés" has been established in
Puy-en-Velay and seems to benefit from the complacency of the local mayor as wellas the prefecture who are trying to ban any visible opposition to this place offascist propaganda. ---- Once again fascism and all its ideological cousins havecampaigned in Le Puy-en-Velay with the local neo-Nazi hiding behind a so-calledbookstore[1]. ---- For 18 months, this place, in the heart of the shoppingstreets of the old town, has been distilling its hatred and violence with theliterature put up for sale, but also during the conferences offered. Between thatof a certain Hilda Lefort (anagram of Adolf Hitler) on racism, that on theanti-Semitic royalist Charles Maurras, or that led by Georges Feltin-Tracol,about Alexandre Douguine, Russian author who supported Putin and eurasism andcalling for "the extermination of Ukrainians", the leaders also invitepersonalities who have been repeatedly condemned by the courts, such as YvanBenedetti (president of the French Nationalist Party) and his lawyer Pierre-MarieBonneau, a specialist in the defense of militants of the far right (he is thelawyer of the CLAN - Committee for Liaison and Assistance to Nationalists).The latter two held a conference on Saturday January 7, 2023. The RAFAHL(Antifascist Network of Haute-Loire), where UCL Le Puy is very involved,organized yet another demonstration. Two hundred people mobilized despite theban, once again, of the prefecture of any gathering in the city center.Among the reasons, we find among these brave defenders of the republican orderthe risk of trouble by the presence of the local ultra left! It is true that wesaw a former socialist mayor and some activists from "Generation s" (we eventhought we saw Solidaires and the CGT!).So far the state authorities and the town hall have never really reacted againstthis pharmacy, despite alerts and a complaint. Even worse! While the pit bullsprotecting the entrance sent a young couple to the hospital wearing the T-shirtof the German antifascist football club St Pauli[2], it was obviously theantifascist activists who were fined for having entered the prohibited areapeacefully.Fascism under police protectionJoining the remarks of the panicked prefecture at each rally in seeing thecapture of the winter palace by dirty leftists (a leftist can only be filthy forthese people!) the knife between the teeth (this Saturday, January 7 , for 200demonstrators there were 8 CRS cars), the mayor of the city, a puppet of thepresident of the Wauquiez region, went there with his declaration in the press byassociating fascists and anti-fascists in the same camp!Gutter rhetoric, identical to that of the government, a large part of the mediaand political parties, the city councilor even adding a layer on Le Puy, atolerant city whose extremes would not be a reflection.He forgets to say that he never lifted a finger and even less the middle fingeragainst this local, hiding behind freedom of trade and even responding favorablyto the request of fafs to install video surveillance cameras.
