Anti-fascist solidarity ---- The Unicobas Scuola expresses full solidarity with
the students of the Liceo Classico Michelangiolo in Florence, attacked onSaturday 18 February in front of their school by a group of fascists from StudentAction. It appreciates the various positions that have condemned this shamefulact from many quarters and considers very serious the declarations of MinisterValditara, who, by minimizing the incident, takes the opportunity to condemnthose who deprecated the attack, even going so far as to threaten disciplinarymeasures for the Director of another Florentine high school who in an internalcommunication reaffirmed the values of anti-fascism.Unlike what Minister Valditara guiltily and irresponsibly claims, the fascistpresence in schools and in society is a reality, which as such must be denounced, hindered and rejected. There are many teachers who daily try to educate the principles of freedom andanti-fascism in their workplace, often accused of being "anachronistic offshootsof '68", of "doing politics" (sic!) or of sending "ideological messages one way".As if in the school of the republic there could and should be alternativemessages to anti-fascism.There are many occasions in the school which see workers and students committedto countering the various fascist forms represented by a growing authoritarianismwhich is expressed in various ways: militarization of schools, ordinary use ofthe disciplinary tool by the managers, complaints for self-management andoccupations, imposition of a traditionalist disciplinary code on employees, restriction of the right to strike and union viability, discriminatory worship ofa supposed "merit".Unicobas has always given solicitation and support to these struggles, becauseanti-fascism is practiced every day and in all possible ways.Certainly the fascist aggression in Florence represents a specific and veryserious fact, a sign of growing aggressiveness on the part of an organizationsuch as Azione Studentesca, linked to the Brothers of Italy, which evidentlytoday feels legitimized at an institutional level in exercising its violentpractices. But it is also a very worrying sign of the times we are living in that the letterin which a Head of the public school, the Leonardo Da Vinci High School inFlorence, Dr. Annalisa Savino, following a squad attack, appeals to the values ofanti-fascism, expressing contents that should be obvious and which instead evenarouse the indignation of Minister Valditara. A reaction that makes evident thefascist substance of the right in government.Faced with this shame Unicobas* calls for the immediate resignation of Minister Valditara* reiterates its solidarity with the students of the Michelangiolo in Florenceaffected by the attack, with the director Savino threatened by the minister, aswell as with the collegiate bodies of the Liceo Michelangiolo who have taken aclear position on the facts and have announced their willingness to form a civilparty in any proceeding against the attackers, to all those who, school staff, students and families, strive daily to keep fascism away from school and history.p. the National Executive of UnicobasPatricia Nesti_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
