A year of war, twelve months which perhaps had not been budgeted for by the
various protagonists, the fact is that today it is difficult to speculate on whenthis conflict will end, and above all how. ---- The word "escalation" is used asan increasingly probable hypothesis, but in fact the "escalation" has been takingplace since the beginning, indeed since before, when a clash still intensifiedwith blows of strategic maneuvers , encirclement attempts, threats, devicehardening. In one year, military engagement, both in Russia and in Ukraine, i.e.in the countries of the NATO front that are fighting through Ukraine, hasundergone a surge; many arsenals have been emptied, and the armaments factorieswork full time to fill them. ---- It is said that Italy has spent 76 billion tocontain the impact of energy price increases, but these are due to speculationand use war as a cover; However, he has already thrown 500 million into theUkrainian cauldron in the form of armaments, and he is spending another 500million by sending the Samp-t anti-missile; if the conflict has cost Russiasomething like 82 billion dollars, it has already cost the NATO countries 40billion, half of which to the United States alone; the EU itself has allocated3.2 billion, recovering them from the "peace fund" (sic!). But so much interestis also linked to the reconstruction business, the other business on whichtoday's generous "creditor countries" are preparing to launch themselves. The increasingly direct involvement of NATO countries in the conflict isincreasing the real risk of its enlargement; the balance of terror has long sincebeen overcome by a balance on the battlefield, made to the sound of thousands ofdeaths, destructions, and by a stalemate that can only be overcome by theintroduction of ever more lethal weapons, up to those nuclear. This is because the warlords have decided that this conflict can only end withwinners and losers. It is an established fact that the timing of the conflict is dictated by theUnited States and almost all of its allies (the less hesitant ones), on the onehand, and Putin on the other. Zelensky is just a poor pathetic baby who has beenmanipulated from the beginning by NATO, which, like Russia, planned and explodedthe war. Certainly there is an invading army of a territory, which no one feelslike justifying; but on this other side it should not be forgotten that thatconflict was sought as much as Russia, to straighten the backs of a Europe tooopen to Moscow, too constrained by its energy supplies, and in search of its ownpolitical autonomy, as well as than economic and military. The Ukrainian people found themselves between two fires; it has to protect itselffrom bombs and destruction and it is doing it as best it can; this objective factcannot hide how the country has been governed by a clique of scoundrels, whicheven in this past year, has continued to make money, corrupt, mind its ownbusiness even with the huge economic aid from abroad. The Ukrainian population is used, exploited, for purposes that are certainly nottheir freedom, their well-being, their self-determination.The word to end the war will be put, if and when they want it, by Biden andPutin, and their various supporting subjects-subjects-allies. And it will not bedictated by a solution on the Donbass or the Crimea, but by the re-establishmentof balances at an international level, which both sides wanted to violate topursue other ends very different from the control (or defense) of the territoryUkrainian. The clash has been global for some time, between different andopposing economic powers, it is between the USA and China, and for years thisclash has been practiced by proxy in various parts of the planet, especially inAfrica, but not only. War by proxy means that others do the dirty work, thatothers die. Russia is an integral part of this economic and politicalconfrontation, which has turned into a military one, and is participating in itin the most brutal way possible, the only way that fits with the ideology of thetotal domination of a dictatorship. But let us not forget that until thirteenmonths ago Putin's regime was well accepted in the salons of the worldbourgeoisie, it shared all kinds of banquets, and its own banks and companies, above all energy and military, did business with anyone, hosted administrationseminent figures of the political world of Western states; let us not forget thatthe current Italian government coalition stood out for its pro-Putinism, whichwas not only a support for the leader of the Russian state, but also a sharing ofhis ideas and his methods, and in many cases they were also links of covertbusiness and financing. All of this - and it applies to Italy but also to mostof the NATO countries - in full awareness of what that regime represented, desired, did, at home and outside. In the past year, the war has been trivialized, just as evil was trivialized atthe time of the holocaust; it has become part of our daily life, together withthe advertising of chips or luxury cars, losing its dramatic, dangerous, carcinogenic meaning. With its trivialization, the links that every war developsin order to exist have also been lost: the war economy (factories, planning, trade, armaments), the high cost of living that military spending imposes and thetransfer of enormous resources from fundamental fields for people's lives and forsocieties, towards the exclusive sphere of destruction; the truth, drowned fromthe first minute in the swamp of propaganda, and in this there is no distinctionbetween the rough propaganda of the Russian (and Ukrainian) government, and thesoft and democratic one of Western governments. The fact is that no peace process has been launched, no diplomatic avenue hasbeen attempted, except for the very interested strategy of Turkish PresidentErdogan, who is much more attentive to internal politics and to settling accountswith the Kurdish people with the approval of NATO and the Russia. Peace doesn'tinterest anyone at the moment, because war is a real business, not only economic, but also political: it brings a lot to everyone, unites, imposes harshinterventions in the economy, and then, let us not forget, it has always been themain strategy of the states, of NATO as well as of the opposing front.Just as we don't talk about peace, we mustn't talk about pacifists, deserters, fugitives who have tried and are trying to escape unshared choices, descendedfrom above. There are hundreds of thousands in the two opposing camps, and theyare truly forgotten by the conflict, because their active neutrality, theirrefusal to fight, to take sides and enlist, to be crushed by war propaganda, areannoying, must be cancelled. Better to show the victims, the desperate families, the destroyed countries, in order to continue to obtain consensus for a strategywhich, yes, really, represents a climb towards the irreparable. We were right to shout "Against Russia and NATO" right from the start, and we dideven better when we declared that our fight against the war had to be done hereand now, in our occupied and militarized land, immersed in strategies of deathand control of the territories and the Mediterranean, as we have always done.Because only by dismantling the foundations of death can we help build a worldwithout wars and true peace.Pippo Gurrierihttps://www.sicilialibertaria.it/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
