We asked ourselves what value can be attributed today to a day, such as that of
April 25th, which now appears completely disconnected from the liberatingconflict of which it should - instead - be the bearer. ---- To avoid falling intothe rituality of the "party", we therefore propose - precisely on Liberation Day- to focus our gaze and attention on the places of imprisonment and internmentpresent in our society. The chronicles of the violence and abuses in uniformcarried out inside prisons are well known, as is the imprisonment against thosewho, political prisoners, refuse to accept forms of human annihilation. Actionssuch as writing, reading and communicating inside the prison - this is the caseof 41 bis - have been assumed by the state as apt to hypothetically place it indanger, since to exercise them they would be subjects considered socially hostileor subversive. Obviously, these are restrictions on the freedom of the inmatethat would envy the prison devices of fascism. But that is not all. There is, in fact, what we can define as one of the greatest examples ofcontinuity between 'fascist injustice' and 'democratic justice': the"Repatriation Centers", shared in their constitution by all governments anddestined to multiply under the pressure of the current one. "One per region" wasin fact - indecently - decreed by this government only a few days after theshipwreck of Cutro, yet another state massacre. The CPRs (previously CIE) are places of the state and managed by the latter tomultinationals: they are therefore places subjected to the ruthless law of profitto be obtained on the skin of the inmates in which men become real 'damned onearth', persecuted for the simple fact of being on Italian territory without adocument (considered) "valid". No crime, except that of having placed your feeton the sand or having crossed the Italian passes, fleeing wars, hunger anddespair produced and reproduced by the capitalist West. Those who are interned in these centers (they were established in 1998 by theTurco-Napolitano Law with the name of C.P.T. - Centers of Temporary Stay -, latercalled C.I.E. - Centers for Identification and Expulsion - by the Bossi-Fini Lawof 2002, and finally renamed C.P.R. - Centers of Permanence for Repatriations -from the Minniti-Orlando Law of 2017) has the only "fault" of leading one's lifewithout the approval of the law. But which law is it? Of the 'democratic' onewhich, while generically proclaiming some human rights, institutes forms ofsurveillance and punishment which aim to annul and mortify those who are"illegal" because they are not recognized by the state. These are men who live ina worse condition than they would in any prison: in the CPR the inmates arestripped of even those few rights that are (formally) recognized to everyprisoner. The result? Beatings, violence of all sorts, abusive administration ofpsychopharmaceuticals, self-mutilation, suicide attempts. Here then are the internal riots: the only fire in the night, the only hope forthe end of this unspeakable 'democratic' massacre.Political responsibilities are transversal and multi-party; no party, least ofall the PD, can claim any opposition to the CPR. We say it clearly: the CPRcannot be reformed, improved or "humanised", rather they must be eliminated andabolished.https://ponte.noblogs.org/2023/3233/sul-25-aprile/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
