that climbs above 39%. Today in Argentina, 11 and a half million people do not
cover our basic needs, and 2 out of 3 children are poor or are deprived of basic
rights. These are not merely statistics, they are concrete, daily and crude
realities. They are the thousands of households whose income is not enough to
cover the basic basket of food and services; They are the families juggling to
make ends meet, the neighbors of the popular neighborhoods doing magic to fill
the pot on a day-to-day basis. They are childhoods growing up with nothing in
their bellies, deprived of education, decent housing and even drinking water.
They are our grandparents receiving a miserable retirement that is not even
enough to buy the medicines. They are the thousands of unemployed barely
surviving on odd jobs, or the thousands of people who are forced to rummage
through the garbage in order to eat. It is having to choose between paying for
public transport or eating. It is the youth abandoning or not even being able to
access studies due to lack of resources. It is also the youth turned into cannon
fodder for drug trafficking, which uses their despair and lack of life projects.
These deplorable and continuously deteriorating living conditions are not
accidental, but are the consequence of the constant attacks and advances from
those above. It is here where it is inevitable to point out the accelerated
inflation -at 8.4 in April and 108 year-on-year- and the exchange rate run, which
added to the high tariffs and the sharp increase in basic necessities, are far
from relieving the pocket of the population.
We must also add a strong repressive advance by the State, which does not
hesitate for a second to order to repress social conflicts and which persists in
persecuting those of us who fight to dignify the living conditions of our people.
Not to mention the deployment of the Armed Forces in different parts of the
country, both in strategic areas for extractivism such as 'Vaca Muerta', as well
as in popular neighborhoods with the excuse of combating the escalation of
"violence". that lives below, a product of the social fragmentation that the
system itself generates.
All this while the business community and the political class remain in an
obscene bubble of privileges. In this sense, the politicians in the campaign -of
whom we expect nothing- are debated in internal disputes that have nothing to do
with popular needs.
On the side of the official government, we see how each political sector tries to
"take care of its ranch." This is: Massa seeking to preserve his friendship with
the business community, the US embassy and some local political figures, while
what was his savior figure in the national government is failing miserably.
Meanwhile, Kirchnerism, with the policy of ignoring its own government, continues
to search for a candidate that reinforces its own image and discourse, thus
safeguarding its last percentages of the electorate that possibly allow it to
seclude itself in the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires. . As for
Alberto Fernandez's sector, supported by some social leaders and union
bureaucrats, he saw his power increasingly eroded, until he definitively dropped
out of re-election.
All this while at the economic level, through Massa, they are trying to give
imperialism signs of continuity and discipline in terms of the terms and
conditions of the debt with the IMF, whoever governs in the next period governs.
Proof of this were the last trips to the US by the "super minister", looking for
the IMF to advance disbursements for the whole year, in exchange for more fiscal
adjustment and indebtedness in dollars at enormous rates. In turn, the national
government met with Wendy Sherman, head of security for the US State Department,
and also received General Laura Richardson, head of the Southern Command, in
Argentina, in the midst of geopolitical realignments in the region.
In short, the Frente de Todos, which vociferated that "they came back to be
better", ended up signing whatever agreement was presented with the IMF,
guaranteeing an alignment with imperialism and reinforcing an economic-productive
matrix of a dependent country. While for those below there was only more
adjustment and hunger.
On the opposition side, Cambiemos is betting that the economic and social gravity
be such as to allow its incoming government to apply shock policies on scorched
earth. This is without the intention of a social outbreak occurring that does not
give it room or consensus to go in depth with the deepening of the measures that
the establishment and the IMF are demanding. That is to say, they want attrition
but not a governance crisis. We understand that the main fight for candidacies is
in this part of the opposition, since they know that their victory is practically
assured as a result of the FdT debacle.
Lastly, it is necessary to talk about the "Milei phenomenon". This pseudo
political project with ultra-liberal and fascist elements that came out to
proclaim dollarization, something that is not new in Argentina, since it appeared
for the first time in Menem's time -at the hands of his minister Roque
Fernández-. This was seen with good eyes by some multinationals, but nevertheless
the constant signs of instability in the person of Milei -represented in a speech
based on shouting and grievances- and a host of political and economic proposals
without much support, made different sectors of the establishment begin to turn
their backs on him, as happened in the last Llao Llao Business Forum. It is worth
noting that the figure of Milei, rising in some polls, dangerously managed to
unite ultra-right denialist sectors, many linked to the dictatorship, such as his
alliance in Tucumán with the son of the genocidal Bussi.
The response to the advanced adjuster is costing a lot. The trade union and
social leaderships, unfortunately, are paralyzed waiting for the political
rearrangements in the PJ. Far from promoting far-reaching measures to stop the
adjustment of the popular sectors, they limited themselves to taking a tepid
position, calling for "political agreements" with traditional politics, when it

However, we must recognize that there have been sectoral or regional responses
with an impact that encourage deepening the fight plans. As were the teacher
strikes in numerous provinces, the strike in the port-maritime sector throughout
the country, the fight by chemists in the industrial cordon of San Lorenzo, the
subway strikes in CABA or the united mobilizations of the piquetero movement. It
is becoming more and more necessary to reach a measure of force at the national
level, and it is an essential task to install the slogan of a general strike that
shakes the intentions of the national and provincial governments -and the

It is our task to make it clear that there is no way out from above, with the
rules set by the system and its institutions. In times where we live worse and
worse, where disbelief in politicking and organizational dispersion increases,
the revolutionary political proposal of radical change in society that we
anarchists proclaim must sink deep and take root.

The anarchist militancy must find itself in this position of struggle today,
promoting, supporting and strengthening popular organizations. Building a strong
people to stop the systematic advance of those above, building an organized
people that fight in solidarity for the demands of our class.
