In 1982, the first march for lesbian visibility was organized in Canada. Today,
whether it is the extension of the retirement age or the rise of the extremeright, the dangers are multiple for lesbians. Today as yesterday, UCL calls forpeople to join the marches organized in several cities. ---- Put an end to theamputated retirement of women and lesbians ---- Making lesbians visible meansmaking visible the precariousness, and the vulnerability that ensues, to whichthe government exposes them with the counter- pension reform. If the government'simpact study on the application of the reform has difficulty in hiding theinjustices suffered by women, for lesbians, the accumulation of inequalities iscompletely swept under the carpet. Forced part-time work and the low salaries towhich women are often assigned have a double impact on lesbian couples, thusdoubling exposing households to precariousness. This precariousness is all thegreater in that lesbians in France still suffer lesbophobic discrimination inhiring. Result: there are more periods of unemployment and validating annuitiesis done in adversity. These attacks are reinforced for migrant and racializedlesbians, for whom the reform means more a departure at 67 than at 64.We know it: 40% is what today corresponds to the pension gap between women andmen. The reform will aggravate wealth inequalities and particularly impoverishlesbians, for whom old age is already more synonymous with isolation than forheterosexual women. Indeed, LGBTIphobia deprives many LGBT people of the supportnetwork that families often represent. Who says isolation, says reinforcement ofprecariousness. In addition, lesbophobia, stigma and violence experienced throughout careers andlives have detrimental mental health consequences. They impact the healthy lifeexpectancy of lesbians. We don't want to die on the job or spend our retirement in the hospital!Today, there is no choice but to fight. The far right is the mortal enemy of lesbians and LGBTI peopleWe have no more time: the extreme right and its fascist militias are at the gatesof power. The time has come to organize and strengthen our counter-powers(unions, LGBTI collectives, family planning, etc.) We know that the rise of thefar right and reactionary themes has been made partly on the backs of sexualminorities, precisely since the "Manif pour Tous", today "Syndicat de lafamille". They give way to an outbreak of LGBTIphobia and aggression. An imperative: to unite and fightTo put an end to oppression, the trampling of our rights and our collectivefreedoms, it is necessary that our struggles take the path of a break with thepatriarchal system, but also with capitalism and the racist system which onlyreinforce this tyranny. We want to live without domination, to live free in a society free fromexploitation, where social equality would be ensured by the collective managementof our needs and means of production, where the emancipation of each would beeveryone's business. · your both in his sexual orientation and in his lifechoices, where solidarity would be the basis of society. This is calledlibertarian communism.Let's refuse their world, let's build ours. Long live those who struggle, longlive popular power!Libertarian Communist Union, April 25, 2023.https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Journee-internationale-de-la-visibilite-lesbienne-Les-lesbiennes-au-coeur-de-la_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
