In the February elections, the CGT won allthe seats on the CSE (Social and Economic Committee); the CFDT has been wiped offthe map. And the revival of the conflict floats in the air. ---- The previousstrike, conducted in November-December on the occasion of the mandatory annualnegotiations (NAO) on wages, was marked by a painful twist. At the request of theRegional Health Agency (ARS), the prefect had requisitioned forty strikers out ofeighty, then twenty-two a few days later. Strange, three months after the end ofthe state of health emergency ! The CGT filed an appeal.On the picket line, there was outrage. "These requisitions are a scandal, but wewon't let go! said then the union delegate, Marie Melgire, to the colleaguesgathered in the cold with thermoses of coffee, a table of pastries and the soundtruck of the UD-CGT 93.Kuwait Investment FundEverything has deteriorated at the Floréal clinic since the Gambaro family soldthe establishment in the spring of 2021 to Almaviva, the fourth private healthgroup in France, 60% controlled by a Kuwaiti fund. We have gone from a ratherpaternalistic management to a brutal management in a hurry to obtain a return oninvestment.The staff, partly temporary, has started to clear off - nearly forty-sixdepartures in one year according to the CGT -, the understaffing has caused thedifficulty to explode, and recruitment is hampered by a declining reputation. Deterrent, in these times when healthprofessionals are a rare commodity!Remuneration is at the heart of the dissatisfaction. Before the sale, salarieswere low, but compensated by an annual bonus. The new management removed it, onthe (curious) grounds that the profit had melted away. To verify this, the CSEhas triggered a right of economic alert and commissioned a firm of experts.But after all, the bonus is a pernicious form of remuneration, because it is notsustainable and excludes social security contributions. Instead, the CGT hastherefore claimed solid: an increase of 200 euros gross for all, and a thirteenthmonth. Management's response: "social dialogue" in front, and prefecturalrequisition from behind!In December, after the suspension of the strike, the management conceded a salaryincrease... then did an about face... announcing the return of the bonus, but allstunted! Outraged refusal, situation blocked while waiting for management to makeserious offers. The doctors themselves are beginning to grow impatient; wouldthey and they be dragged down by a new strike?In any case, the situation highlights the scandal of maintaining a lucrativeprivate sector in the health system: people work there to enrich shareholders,but the right to strike is restricted in the name of public service!
