"The state is the coldest of cold monsters. It lies coldly; and here is the lie
that escapes from its mouth: "I the state, I am the people." -- FriedrichNietzsche ---- There is something exhilarating about finding yourself in numbersin the streets of Quimper, Brest or elsewhere. Exhilarating because we had beenhoping for a long time for a major social movement, with its share reunions, human encounters, aperitifs, parties, but also and above all these moments ofdiscussion, deadlocks, debates and solidarity. A social movement is also andabove all that. Breaking the isolation that work , unemployment or the dailygalleys created in our lives, to come together all together in order to have abill withdrawn, but more generally to organize collectively to see how we couldenter the capitalist house and set it on fire a once and for all! As part of thismovement against retirement at 64, no one knows what the outcome will be. Perhapsit is in a declining phase. Let's hope we are wrong! Indeed, the use of 49.3 hasawakened part of the population still reluctant to go out in the street. Thedemonstrations led by the inter-union finally began to overflow. Another sectionof the population, more reformist and counting on the "wise" retirees with dirtyhands from the Constitutional Council, are today very disappointed when theylearn of the validation of the law by this team of senile people. Even thehighest sphere at the head of the state would therefore work for the capitalistsand the employers? What a surprise coming from defenders of the institutions andmembers of the ruling class! This new "disappointment" does not leave unmovedthese reformist opponents who rarely take to the pavement... but tongues areloosened and in the informal discussions that can be had in parallel withdemonstrations, it is no longer rare to hearing "we have to move up a gear","perhaps it is with violence that we will win? ", etc., etc. from the mouths ofthose who still yesterday harshly criticized the excesses in parallel with therallies. So yes, we will not win a social movement with 4-5 radicalizedreformists, but we must recognize that in this very individualistic post-covidera, this gives us a bit of hope. This bit of hope, we also have it if we look internationally. Focused as we areon the situation at home, a quick glance elsewhere does not hurt to see thatgrassroots grassroots movements also exist elsewhere. As for example, in Greece, where, in mid-March, a train disaster killing 57 people led, in general surprise,to a large-scale and very well-attended general strike, called jointly by publicand private organizations. The entire population is reacting head-on and quicklyto a disaster that could have been avoided if the budget cuts linked to theausterity policies of recent decades had not reduced the quality of Greek publictransport to a trickle! We can also take the very different example of Sudan. A war begins there at themoment between two military factions claiming power! This war has done a lot ofdamage and deaths in Khartoum in a few days! Sudanese civil society, instead oftaking sides with one or the other of the armies, instantly makes it officialthat it does not recognize itself in this power struggle and that "the forces inconflict do not represent the Sudanese people". Civilians are self-organizing,despite the many deaths, through resistance committees created during the popularsocial movement of recent years. Months of social protests give them for themoment the strength to collectively resist this war which is not theirs. Giventhe local context, it's still a pleasure!Poitiers, solidarity demonstration with Serge and the injured, April 22, 2023Hope is also needed and massively to support the wounded of the disproportionaterepression of March 25 in Sainte-Soline in the Deux Sèvres, like the one thataffects the social movement more punctually. Mutilated bodies, gouged out eyesand damaged lives. Hope especially seeing Mickael leaving the hospital still sodetermined, but also rage, to know Serge, our friend, still in a coma after 1month in hospital. We said among comrades a few weeks ago that we were for once in a situation ofresponse against capital, it is now up to us not to miss it!Douarnenez on April 21, 2023 http://oclibertaire.lautre.net/spip.php?article3741_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
