Out to the anarchist May 1st, 2023! Under the motto: "There is no peace in
capitalism. For the social revolution!" the Black Cat Dresden, the AnarchistNetwork Dresden (AND) and other groups and individuals called for a militantdemonstration. To our great joy, more than 350 people of all ages responded tothis call. The great success of this demonstration is due to our broadmobilization, the open design of the demo and the focus on anarchist-classstruggle content. We were vocal, determined and visible through many banners andflags. We took our social demands to the streets.Unfortunately, the dynamic changed when participants from another demonstrationjoined ours. From this point on, fewer slogans were called that matched thecontent of the demo, which changed the external impact somewhat. Probably some ofthe newly arrived people weren't aware of the character of our demo, which is whymany people ran along fully masked. This meant more hassle with cops who now hadmore reason to film the demo and then take action on people on flimsy grounds. Wetook these incidents very seriously, discussed them and will consider them infuture actions and develop further concepts on how we can counteract repressivemeasures differently. We also take with us the use of awareness people and morefolders for future demonstrations, as these would have been incredibly important,especially, but not only, because of the size of the demo.The march ended at the artesian well, where the crowd welcomed the demonstratorswith applause. From 2:30 p.m. another program started there, consisting ofvarious speeches and ROR action drums. A cozy living room atmosphere with pillowsand blankets created a space for exchange of content, open formats, discussionsand interactive workshops. At the various information stands of the groups FAUDresden (anarchist union), Schwarze Rose (student union), abc dd (anarchist BlackCross Dresden), tierbefreiung dresden, the malobeo zine stand and the Zapatistasupport group Dresden, there was a lot of interesting information, brochures,stickers waiting and zines on new owners. Topics on self-organization,syndicalism, anarchism, (queer) feminism, anti-speciesism and internationalismwere the focus.The speeches dealt with, for example, the historical history of May 1st,inflation, trade unions, wage work is lifetime, feminist perspectives on societyas well as the situation and exploitation of workers and non-human animals in themeat industry.A vegan cake and snack stand and refreshing drinks from the zick zack collectivetook care of the physical well-being.Full solidarity with all those affected by repression.
