 The Sicilian Anarchist Federation extends its warmest greetings to the comrades,

groups and federations that will meet in Reggio Emilia from 7 to 10 April for the
congress of the International of Anarchist Federations. ---- Anarchists have
always had an internationalist heart because they do not believe in states and
borders; while dealing with specific local or national problems, while speaking
and writing in different languages, they have always maintained an international
perspective. ---- This is why we consider the role of the IFA important and have
decided to give it our wholehearted support. A role that, although it is the
expression of a minority, is fundamental in the globalised world of capitalism
and liberalism, which are plundering the life on the Planet in an irreversible
manner.

The environmental crisis cannot now be tackled by local measures alone, which are
insufficient to stop the threat to living beings, be they human, animal or plant.
A coordinated effort by all victims of capitalism is needed to reverse the state
of affairs. Wars are the way by which the capital tries to keep itself alive,
destroying countries and territories, exploiting important resources for the
production of weapons, keeping humanity under the constant threat of a nuclear
confrontation. The war, any kind of war, is the enemy of peoples, enslaves them,
massacres them or subjugates them. This is why the anti-militarist,
internationalist and anti-imperialist battle is increasingly central to the
strategies of the anarchist movement.

Forced migrations and fascisms are the harmful consequences of these policies of
multinational or national capital.

The exodus of millions of people due to wars, ecological crises, dictatorships
and extreme poverty represent a problem that must be tackled by contrasting the
militarist and racist logic of states with practices of solidarity and welcome,
together with a general struggle for a different distribution of the world's
resources, based on equality and social justice.

The fascisms that are imposing themselves in many areas of the planet under
different forms and names, represent another way for the bourgeoisies to
safeguard their privileges by crushing the weaker fringes of society, propagating
false myths such as the 'sovereign nation', wiping out both economic and social
conquests that workers, minorities, women, the LGBT world, have gained through
hard struggles, and implementing increasingly violent repressive and prison
policies against anarchists and social rebels. An anti-fascist action is required
on a large scale, through the demystification of sovereignist and neo-Nazi
propaganda and the search for unity of action among all segments of the exploited
class. A struggle that is also strongly aimed at curbing and defeating religious
power wherever and however it manifests itself. Religious organizations have been
and are one of the strongest supports of the bourgeoisies and capital; they
constitute one of the most dangerous forms of subjugation of individuals and a
major threat to the freedom of all human beings.

The FAS wishes all participants in the IFA congress a productive confrontation
aimed at identifying effective campaigns of struggle, ways of expressing
international solidarity that respond to the needs of the moment in relation to
both the consequences of wars, the climate crisis and the issue of migration, and
the urgent need to expand the practices of freedom everywhere in the world.
