PRESS RELEASE - The Anarchist Group of Ragusa, the Unitary Confederation of the
Base (CUB) and the NO MUOS Base Committee are organizing a rally in Piazza SanGiovanni at 11.30 on May 1st. ---- Before the rally, at 11, by the Committee"April 9, 1921" will be placed a wreath on the stone commemorating the threelaborers killed by fascist violence. ---- On behalf of the three organizations,Pippo Gurrieri will speak, who will focus on the Government's policies againstthe poor, against women and the LGBTQ+ community, against workers, with measuresaimed at reducing the freedom to demonstrate and protest, and on the fury of thegovernment coalition against immigrants, the cause of many of the tragedies thatoccur every day on our coasts.The speaker will also talk about differentiated autonomy and its harmfulconsequences on the Mezzogiorno and Sicily already reduced to pieces after 150years of capitalist colonization.A topic that cannot be missed will be that of the war in Ukraine, the role of warindustries in fomenting and prolonging it, the function of Sicily, subjected toNATO-American militarisation, forced to act as essential support for US warstrategies, with all the its bases, from Sigonella to MUOS in Trapani Birgitotally and daily involved in the conflict.On the day improperly defined as "workers' day", we will talk about theprecariousness and exploitation of male and female workers, unemployment, theconditions of immigrant laborers in the "transformed band" and the case of whiteshotgun that hit Daouda Diene in Acate.
