For more than five weeks in the city of Sarlat, a blockade was organized in the
Lycée Pré de Cordy. It was an opportunity for students, teachers but also localresidents to collectively experience a form of horizontal and inclusive struggle.Back on this rich experience. ---- On March 7, the Lycée Pré de Cordy enteredinto an episode of unprecedented strike and blockade. Launched by film students,a blockade was put in place on the first day of the call for the renewal of theinter-union. Some teachers and staff of the establishment decide to join thestrike and help the students to organize and maintain their blockade. The blockade holds. It holds so much that it is transformed into a real livingspace: space dedicated to relaxation with armchairs and sofas, dry toilets, kitchen, bicycle parking... The atmosphere is cheerful, especially on sunny days, during which the student musicians indulged in small improvised concerts, othersset up a badminton court in the parking lot, played a game of football, molky orpetanque with several teachers and others establishment personnel present on thepicket line.A blockage that has become a place of lifeThe blockade is a place of meeting, exchange and debate that is held together bythe direct solidarity of local residents and businesses, in particular donationsof food or even furniture by a major French equipment manufacturer. The CGTÉduc'action 24 provided financial and moral support to the students permanentlypresent on the blockade. The blockade therefore takes the nickname of "VillagePré de Cordy".Regular speeches, meetings between students and unions are organized, inparticular around the solidarity meals offered by the CGT, which allowintergenerational exchanges. The atmosphere is festive and we stick with it, asthe students say on the microphones of local newspapers and radio stations suchas France Bleu Périgord or Sud Ouest. A comrade from the CGT, actively involvedin the blockade, testifies to the effervescence of this self-managementexperience despite the reflections and the pressure exerted on them bynon-striking personnel.Unparalleled mobilizationOn Thursday March 23 the mobilization is stronger than ever, in the morning, asit-in is set up by the students to block the entrance to the school complex, ¬inthe afternoon, the procession of the demonstration leaves from Village Pré deCordy. Speeches are made by students and union members before the departure ofthe procession, on the facilities of the blockade provided for this purpose.About 2,200 people marched that day against Macron's pension reform andauthoritarianism.Although the Lycée is used to blockades, this is the first time that it haslasted so long, that solidarity is so strong there. It is rare to see such amobilization in rural areas and this shows us that the current struggle is muchgreater than expected by our rulers and that by not giving up, by continuing toblockade, to strike, to demonstrate, to fight , we will win against thisbourgeois State which leads us straight to death at work for the greatestpleasure of the capitalists.Alex (UCL activist) and Mylène (CGT 24)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Retour-sur-experience-Village-Pre-de-Cordy-un-blocus-en-zone-rurale_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
