In recent months, the far right has embarked on a media battle in rural areas
against reception centers for asylum seekers (CADA). The municipalities arestruggling to set up these projects in the face of repeated threats and physicalattacks from the fascists. ---- Since the winter of 2022, the far right has beenwaging a new media battle against reception centers for asylum seekers. TheCallac reception center was the first to serve as a media laboratory for the farright. It is the Reconquête party which is first at the maneuver of thisoperation by calling for a demonstration against the opening of the CADA inCallac on September 17, 2022. The demonstration will bring together nearly 300people, inhabitants and inhabitants opposed to the project but above allfar-right activists, notably from Éric Zemmour's party, who came from further afield. On Saturday 5 November, Reconquête is organizing a new event in Callac, this timeinviting extreme right-wing headliners such as Gilbert Collard, honorarypresident of Reconquête and European deputy, or the president of the Ligue duMidi (a violent identity group) as well as activists from Civitas (ananti-Semitic fundamentalist Catholic movement).Beyond the symbolic mobilizations, the elected officials of Callac and thefoundation behind the project have also been the target of pressure and threatsfrom the far right and have received no support from the government. Thesethreats and pressures led to the abandonment of the "Horizon" project by the city(but a new reception project should see the light of day) on January 11, 2023.The Reconquest party was immediately congratulated on this victory. This mediaoffensive allows the far right to give credit in rural areas to its conspiracytheory of the "great replacement", in Callac the co-founder of the foundation, having a Jewish-sounding name, has also suffered numerous anti-Semitic attacks .Increasingly violent mobilizationsSince then, the mobilizations against the CADAs have multiplied, especially inSaint Brévin, a village in Loire Atlantique where a reception project must alsosee the light of day. Armed with the symbolic "victory" of Callac, the fascistscalled for new mobilizations in Saint Brévin which always bring together the sameprofiles, a few local residents and many far-right activists from elsewhere, sometimes to commit assaults. As in Callac, elected officials are subject to harassment and threats, but thefachos have gone to a higher level this time since on March 22, the home of themayor of Saint Brévin was burned down in the middle of the night, when he sleptinside with his wife. Despite the media echo of the case, the government did nothave a word of support for this mayor.Other CADA projects existing elsewhere are subject to the same opposition fromthe far right, such as in Beyssenac in Corrèze or Bêlabre in Indre. For theseless publicized projects, it is the Rassemblement national which seems to be incharge and not Reconquête (their local presence remains quite weak). These mobilizations are of course each time countered by mobilizations of theinhabitants of the communes and the activists of the left of the surroundings aswell as by anti-fascist collectives which are often more numerous and more localthan the "anti-CADA". However, this is not always enough to thwart the propagandaof the fascists, the small town halls placed in the spotlight and suddenlysuffering threats and harassment struggle to maintain the projects in suchconditions. In addition, the debate on the immigration bill risks bringing racism once againto the fore. But although the media echo of these mobilizations is often very important(especially for Callac and Saint Brévin), the press articles testify to a greatermobilization on the side of support for exiles and local solidarity shouldprevail. in the face of the media agitation and the mobilizations of the fascists.Benjamin (UCL Orleans)To go further, two articles to read:"Refugee reception in Callac: the foundation behind the abandoned project files acomplaint for "incitement to hatred"" on Francetvinfo.fr."Settlement of migrants: the strategy of terror of the far right" on Blast-info.fr.Let's protect our children from Vigilant ParentsAfter the "great replacement" Reconquête found a "new" battle horse : the "greatindoctrination", that is to say all the school initiatives that are not to itsliking (sex education, gender education, of History which calls into question thegreatness of France, etc.).Zemmour therefore announced in September 2022 the creation of a network of"Parents Vigilants" which takes the form of a vast media campaign both byrelaying testimonies from reactive parents shocked by their children's lessonsbut also by leafleting parents in front of schools. The leaflet invites parents to sign an LGBTIphobic and Islamophobic petition, aswell as to testify on the Protect our children site, these testimonies of fascistparents then being relayed on the networks in order to amplify the moral panicsof the far right. Finally, the last step: becoming a Vigilant Parent, thisconsists of sending your contact details to Reconquête to be regularly fed theirracist and sexist propaganda. This also allows Reconquête to build a network of reactionary parents ready to doanything to prevent their children and ours from learning to live in a more justand egalitarian world.Benjamin (UCL Orleans)https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Droits-des-exile-es-Les-CADA-excitent-l-extreme-droite-en-milieu-rural_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
