crisis. On the contrary, the multifaceted crisis is the result of the deep decay
and bankruptcy of the system at a social, political and value level. This very
disintegration and total bankruptcy of the world of the state and capitalism is a
limit to the era of its global integration and at the same time the cause of the
sharpening of intra-imperialist antagonisms and the consequent increase in the
threat of war. The state-capitalist system carries within it its contradictions,
the competition between bourgeois staffs for the best position on the chessboard
for the exploitation and distribution of precious and limited natural resources,
the spread of their "sphere of influence" is what makes the war sirens sounding
again and again. Because as long as societies are captive to the so-called
"national interest", private profit and capitalist accumulation, war will be the
only way for empires in conflict. This capitalist lawlessness, however, does not
at all mean that the system of oppression is heading towards its own
annihilation, through its impasses and contradictions. If the peoples do not
claim to take fate into their own hands then the overall living conditions will
become even worse, with the main threat being that of war, as well as further
impoverishment and impoverishment.

In the Greek area, the direction towards the imposition of modern totalitarianism
is reflected in a multitude of restructurings, which serve the declared and
permanent goals of the world of Power, regardless of political management.
Because if today the right seems able to impose the hegemony of neo-liberalism
and expand its policy attacking the workers, the unemployed and everyone from
below, it is because the political management of social democracy in the name of
the radical left crushed the movements, it spread delusions and illusions in
large parts of society only to put another brick in the edifice of modern
totalitarianism and to further consolidate the notion that nothing can change.
Accordingly, the political agenda that has been set since then is in turn part of
a wider ideological program that tries to define itself as a dominant force in
the social body.

The passing of the law to curtail demonstrations, the abolition of the 8-hour
shift and the strike, the legalization of flexible and black labor, the
liberalization of layoffs, the absolute obsolescence of the health good with
hospital unit mergers and privatizations, the anti-environmental law, and the
attempts to privatize social goods such as water and commoditize public spaces
and urban green spaces, the educational restructuring of exclusions and
repression, anti-labor and anti-union laws, the constant increase in the cost of
living, auctions and evictions, the gender-based violence that is promoted
through the state institutions themselves, the further escalation of the criminal
violence of the repressive mechanisms, the state's subsidization of paramilitary
gangs that reappear in the public sphere, the arrests and prosecutions of
activists in demonstrations, the evictions of squatters, the operation of
security forces entering the universities and attack in labor rights in the field
of art are parts of the imposition of modern totalitarianism on the whole
society. An all-out attack by the political and economic bosses, manifested in
even more severe terms, against the social base, the poor, the outcasts, those
who struggle. From the giantization of employer terrorism and state aggression,
leading to the continuous murders of workers in the factories of exploitation,
the incarceration of thousands of refugees and immigrants in the modern Dachau
concentration camps and their thousands of murders on the land and water borders
of Fortress Europe to the the bullets, the torture and the beatings of the
uniformed killers of democracy in the police blocks, the divisions, the
demonstrations, the strikes and the neighborhoods.

Against the gloomy perspective of Modern Totalitarianism, social and class
resistances, people's struggles to shake off state capitalist brutality emerge as
the only hope. From the anti-war demonstrations, the resistances in the
neighborhoods to defend public spaces, the anarchist struggle against patriarchy
and gender violence, the occupation of drama schools and theaters against pd85,
the student mobilizations against educational restructuring and repression in
universities to the struggles that break out in factories and farms, the
mobilizations for the defense of public health against its degradation and
dissolution, the struggles that attempt to be a bulwark against the violent
impoverishment and plundering of the social base, the mass mobilizations against
a whole system that murders on trains, borders and police blocks and the struggle
against fascism as an integral part of the struggle against the state and
capital. In these struggles, we anarchists live and breathe. Our organized
political presence and action on the existing struggle fronts and the formation
of new ones, we want to be the bridge between the real social needs and moods and
the anarchist worldview and practice, so that the resistances become springboards
for social and class emancipation.

The organization of the 5th Freedom Festival by APO-OS aims to create a public
and open political and cultural space for meeting, communication and fermentation
between the social and class struggles that develop from below and the
intervention of anarchist and libertarian initiatives within them.

The themes on which the political events and presentations of the festival will
move have to do with the whole range of social and class antagonism, from the
indigenous and social resistances in Mexico and the struggle against the
plundering of nature, the defense of the occupied and self-organized structures
of struggle to resistances against educational restructuring and 85, state
repression and looting of the social base, patriarchy and trafficking and
fascism. At the same time, we aim to create a space where as many as possible can
come into contact with the anarchist project of social, class and international
solidarity and the universal vision of social revolution, for a society of
equality and freedom through discussions and updates, from photo and document
exhibitions.

Thus, we will have the opportunity to create another ground where the
perceptions, practices, proposals, positions and struggles of anarchists will be
highlighted on a series of issues that run through the political and social
reality of our time. A public field of dialogue where we will have the
opportunity to get to know and present struggle experiences and political
conclusions from resistances that break out with a perspective of social liberation.

Against the barbarity of modern totalitarianism that manifests itself on a global
level, as anarchists, we have to put forward the weapons of social, class and
international solidarity, recognizing that nowadays it is more imperative than
ever to connect those fighting internationally and to fight together against the
common attack that we accept. On every open front of the social and class
struggle, where the aggression of the state and capital is manifested, attempting
to radicalize the struggles through their connection with the universal social
vision of social and class emancipation, proposing the only realistic way out for
the oppressed , the organization of the struggle for social revolution, Anarchy
and Liberal Communism.
