Wehave gone from a healthcare system that the world envied us, to anaccounting and managerial system where personnel have become theadjustment variable. What a beautiful evolution for a society thatshould be based on an egalitarian system of care.The oldest among us remember that it was in the mid-1980s that thehealth system began to decline and be martyred. At that time, I was apsychiatric nurse and we already felt like the poor parents of thissociety, which does not want to see or finance what it does notunderstand. 19 years ago, the double assassination of two sisters at thepsychiatric hospital of Pau on the night of December 18 to 19, 2004, didnot move much. Today, it is the aggression of anurse and a medical secretary, from the Reims University Hospital, whichled to the death of the nurse, which awakens this old demon of the careof people with psychological failures.The other hospital specialties did not intervene to support us, thinkingthat they would escape this accounting objective. We system users who only know how tocomplain when we're concerned, and look the other way when we're not.This violence in the hospital, we experience it every day, in yourimpatience, your verbal and sometimes physical aggressiveness, becausefor you, we are not yet going fast enough. Although the degree ofaggression and threat varies - from intimidation to physical aggression- this violence is widespread, affecting all age groups and all sociallevels of society.The state itself has no qualms about applying this violence, vis-à-visthe hospital corps, by blaming us for a complete lack of organization,mistreating us and beating us up during demonstrations when we demandresources. decent as during the demonstration of June 16, 2020.
