WORLD WORLDWIDE POLAND News Journal Update - (en) Poland, FAP: STRUGGLES AT THE COMMISSION IN DEFENSE OF FAMILIES AND GREENERY (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Yesterday, despite the rainy weather, there was a picket in front of the joint

study and spatial policy committee. The meeting focused mainly on voting oncontroversial points from previous meetings, i.e. green areas and allotmentgardens. ---- We gathered a large group, representing communities from variousdistricts of Poznan, united by disagreement over the scale of destruction ofgreen areas as part of the new study. The time between the speeches was made morepleasant by Samba Halastra, of course everything was held under a large guard ofpolice and municipal guards, after which we conclude that our protest had apositive effect and the councilors were scared of our voice.During the picketThe first to speak was a representative of ROD Energetyk I from Ostrów Tumski, whose entire area is to be handed over to a developer. She talked about thealmost hundred-year history of the garden, the need to preserve it and the desireto open it to the public. The second story was presented by a resident of Górczyn, where for several yearsthere has been a fight for the park located in the area of the last greenery inthe area - as part of the study, the city wants to build roads crossing it there.A petition was mentioned in which 1,200 people were in favor of the park, andwhich the city authorities simply lost ...The third speaker was a representative of WOMB (Wolny Ogrod Miejski Bogdanka). Aspart of the study, the city did not agree to leave its area as allotmentgreenery, but at the request and in the interest of the de facto non-operatingand non-existent Darex company from Warsaw, it changed its designation to parkgreenery (we guess as a private park for the developer). There was also the voice of a member of the Plac Wolnosci Association, who toldhow the city disregarded 12,000 signatures of residents demanding to save theavenue of trees at 27 Grudnia Street, and is now doing everything to destroy it,including by improperly securing them during ongoing renovation works. The last point we were going to fight for was the consent to develop Fort VI,which would set a precedent for the development of other forts. After the speechesAfter the speeches, we joined the committee as one group. We had prepared "for"and "against" boxes and together with the councillors, as a social party, we tookpart in the meeting of the commission - Spatial Policy and RevitalizationCommission (PP Commission) and the Commission for the Study of the City ofPoznan. There were also expressions of disagreement directed at councilors whovoted against greenery. The point concerning Fort VI was the first to be voted on. Both committeesrejected development on the site, so we were successful.Later, the topic of WOMB (Wolny Ogrod Miejski Bogdanka) was discussed. TheSpatial Planning and Revitalization Committee supported the developer'sapplication, and the Study Committee supported us. The matter will be settled atthe Council on 11 July.Another topic discussed was Zieliniec, where the VW company applied for thefelling of 3 hectares of forest for, horror of horrors, the construction of anelectric car factory. Here, of course, there were scuffles between PiS and POcouncilors over who cut down more forests (this is due to the fact that theformer vote rather for greenery at the municipal level). Ultimately, however, itturned out that in this case PO wants to catch up with PiS. Unfortunately, bothcommittees agreed to the felling. In the subject of ROD Energetyk, Halina Owsianna, who comes from the left, currently in the Wspólny Poznan agreement, shone in the discussion. She asked theallotment owners if they did not like the developer, would they agree to create apark in this place (which would probably serve the newly built housing estate forthe rich). Unfortunately, also here, the PP Committee opted for the sale of thedisputed land to developers, but the Study Committee was against it, so thematter was considered by the council. The last point to appear was Górczyna. A lot of councilors shone here. ChairmanMikula, not allowing the residents to vote. Owsianna screaming for PiS to blockother cuttings first, and only then defend the greenery in Górczyn. And finally,a gem: President Guss, who assumed that the residents who signed the petition tocreate the park may not have known what they were signing. Comment it yourself.Unfortunately, also in this case, the PP Committee was in favor of building theroad, and the Study Committee was against it, so the matter will be considered atthe council. Our fight is not over, so we invite everyone who can, on July 11, to the CityCouncil's deliberations on the study to support our protest and listen to whatinteresting statements will be made by councilors and presidents.www.rozbrat.orghttps://federacja-anarchistyczna.pl/2023/07/06/zmagania-na-komisji-w-obronie-rodow-i-zieleni/_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
