We are immersed in a new period of rebound in economic pressure towards
people who need to sell our workforce in one way or another in order tosurvive, that is, the working class, of which we are a part, whether welike it or not, the vast majority of the population. ---- The highinflation of prices, with special importance in the most basic sectors ofthe economy such as food, energy or housing, the dismantling of healthprotection, the propping up of cheap dismissal and precariousness with theapproval of the latest labor reform, or the ecological crisis do not seemto lead to any social response, but there are some exceptions that, in ouropinion, should be an example to follow.Probably, we live in a moment of social shock due to the feeling thateverything is falling apart, that there is not much we can do and that wemust opt for the lesser evil. But with this mentality, we abandon thehistorical forms of social struggle and remain in the hands of the managersof capitalism, the political parties (which in the end respond to theinterests of companies, banks and lobbies), surely waiting for one to winthat cushions the blow.A new electoral period opens and you know what you are going to hear. Youknow that they are going to lie and you know that they are not going totake significant measures, whoever comes out, to improve your quality oflife on a day-to-day basis, especially in the economic field.So why not start a period of struggle that guarantees and covers the needsof working people?As we mentioned before, it seems that socially we have come to the ideathat not much can be done, but this does not have to be so. Historically,it has been popular mobilization that has forced governments to makeconcessions to the working class.The 8-hour day or the right to weekly rest, the right to strike, securityat work, the stoppage of privatization attempts or the prohibition of freepaid dismissal were the result of the response of an organized andcombative working class.Thus, from CNT-AIT Sierra de Madrid, we are convinced that through mutualsupport, self-organization and direct action we can not only defendourselves, but also go on the offensive to ultimately achieve a life inwhich our needs basics are covered.For this reason, we want to propose to initiate the steps to start a periodof struggle that triggers an indefinite general strike (or several days atleast), with the following starting point demands, demands that we areaware do not guarantee the emancipation of the working class, but who canhelp our lives to be a little better in the here and now:- Equating unfair dismissal to null dismissal, as a measure to end jobinsecurity and temporary employment.- Raise the minimum wage to EUR1,200 net in order to cope with the risingcost of living.- Reduction of the working day to 30 hours without salary reduction, due tothe distribution of work and the resources generated as a measure to lowerunemployment.THE FIGHT GETS WHAT THE VOTE DOES NOT GIVE YOU.WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS AND AT WORK, GET ORGANIZED.https://sierra.cntmadrid.org/lucha-voto/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
