phone, there is a nervous atmosphere. In the morning we learned about
the eviction of the camp blocking the logging in the Turnicki National
Park*, several people were detained. We know that there was no basis for
this, and as it will later turn out, no charges were filed. The mother
of one of the detained persons is with us. There are 4 of them in total,
all from Poznan, including one associated with the Anarchist Federation,
the Rozbrat collective and WOMB. ---- The detention was very brutal,
people were forcibly dragged from the barracks and dragged around the
blockade area, put into police cars. Their rights were violated from the
very beginning of the actions of the police and forest services. Then we
found out that the official legal and actual grounds for detention were
only known when the persons signed the detention protocol, a few hours
after they were taken from the blockade. They were not informed of their
rights.

Almost at the same time, there are repressions against the families of
the detained. Shaky J. tells us that the police entered her husband's
house - they searched it, trying to find anything that could be matched
to the theory about finding psychoactive substances in the camp. They
find nothing, they only cause anxiety among the families of the
detainees. We try to comfort J., who is getting more and more nervous,
she is afraid for her nineteen-year-old daughter, this is her first
detention. However, it is difficult to convince a mother that her child
is safe, knowing what the realities of such detention are.
Our fears are later confirmed.

The detained persons did not have direct contact with a lawyer for 24
hours, despite repeated information that they demanded it. When one of
them said she didn't want to sign anything without a lawyer present, she
was told "we're not going to wait a week for that signature." Another
had the phone snatched from her hand, pretending later that she did not
know what phone it was about. The detained people had no access to food
or toilets for many hours. They were told to pick the person who needed
it the most, to go first to the search, the rest to wait another hour.
Those using the toilet were rushed. At one point, while asking about
food, the detained people heard that if they had not prolonged the
preparation of protocols (trying to include a mention that they demanded
contact with a lawyer!!! ) they would get their food faster. Some of
them could not use a chair to sit down for a few hours.

A girl taking medication was taken to the hospital with her hands cuffed
behind her back. Another, after stripping naked during a strip search,
the policewoman repeatedly asked "was it worth it". The contact lens
wearer was not allowed to take the contact lens case with them
overnight, so could not remove them before going to bed (another option
was to deposit them and grope around, not knowing when they would be
returned). The detainees were not allowed to change into clean clothes,
take a shower or otherwise take care of their hygiene. Their cries were
ridiculed and there was an atmosphere of intimidation. They also failed
to take all the things from the blockade area, as far as we know they
were seized by the forest guard, it is not known when and if they can be
recovered at all.

Having such information, it is difficult to convince a worried parent
that the daughter, despite the fact that she has been determined and
well prepared for ecological activist activities for a long time, will
manage in this extreme situation. Seeing the brutality of the services
during the Solidarity manifestations in Warsaw, we ourselves were afraid
for the detainees. Intimidation, physical and psychological violence is
a constant tool of the authorities and the forest service. For a long
time, attempts have been made to criminalize social opposition to the
destruction of nature. It is also scandalous to use GOPR to stop
ecological civil protests, which took place during the eviction of the
camp of the  Wild Carpathians Initiative .

In the dramatic climate situation in which we find ourselves, when
blockades and direct actions are often the only measurable form of
social pressure on the destructive capitalist system, we do not agree to
continuous repression of people actively participating in protest
actions. We are concerned about the future of the forest we defended.
The Turnicki National Park, designed for 30 years, for which we have
been fighting and still fighting, would protect fragments of the
Carpathian Forest from predatory forest management. The State Forests
consistently destroy the areas of the planned park, and state
institutions responsible for nature protection wash their hands of this
practice. No national park has been created in Poland for 20 years - in
the era of climate crisis and the disappearance of biodiversity, we must
protect as many forests and other green areas as possible.

* What forest is this about? About the remains of the relic Carpathian
Forest , the existence of which the State Forests deny, although in old
brochures and calendars they themselves used this name. The idea of
establishing the Turnicki National Park (not necessarily under that
name) is a long one, because for the first time this idea came up before
World War II. However, for almost 40 years, serious steps have been
