In what is becoming Hawaii’s worst state disaster, raging wildfires on the island of Maui have destroyed entire towns – including popular tourist haven Lahaina. 3,000 acres of land have been destroyed in a blaze that no one expected on the idyllic holiday island, and animals are in desperate trouble as people flee. |

A flaming inferno is burning animals. They need your help right now.

The fires, fueled by a dry summer and strong winds from a passing hurricane, took the island by surprise. People fled, and animals were abandoned, lost and killed as the fires tore through dry summer growth unabated. |
|
Haunting drone images show displaced birds with singed wings, terrified animals trying to scramble to safety, and marine life choking on polluted waters.

We are working to help fund rescue missions and provide aid to burnt, trapped and terrified animals. People are fleeing for their lives and tragically, it is the animals who are left behind, helpless and forgotten.
Right now, wild animals, including birds, deer, mongoose and chameleons, are among the fragile wildlife at greatest risk. We know that many will be unable to escape the flames or be overcome by the smoke and the effects of dehydration. But there is hope amid this horror. |

Dedicated teams are racing against the flames to locate and rescue wild animals driven out of their natural habitats. We know the animals will be injured, dehydrated and afraid, we are ready to rush in and save as many as we can. |

People have been jumping into the ocean to escape the flames. What hope do the animals have without us? |
