libertaire (UCL) took place from August 13th to 20th in the Aveyron
region of southern France. Members and sympathizers from all parts of
France took part in the event. After a comrade from the platform visited
the camp last year, this year a small delegation from the platform was
there to get an insight into the work of the comrades and to strengthen
the connections between our organizations. The delegation's report follows:
"As in previous years, this year there was also a diverse program of
content. Every day there were several workshops, lectures or discussion
groups on different social struggles and organizational issues. A focus
in the first few days was on dealing with the Kurdish freedom movement.
Those present listened to the explanations of a comrade from the Academy
of Democratic Modernity about the current situation in Rojava and the
explanations of a comrade on the theory of Jineology. As in previous
years, another focus of the camp was on company and union work. At
various events, for example, assessments of the movement against pension
reform were exchanged and the results of the last congress of the CGT
union were explained. Comrades active in the CGT and Solidaires trade
union confederations discussed the state of their organizations.

But many other topics also took place: activists from the environmental
movement and the anti-fascist movement were discussed, comrades from the
internal committees of the UCL held the federation-wide training courses
they had developed on anti-queer sentiment and racism, and the
international secretariat took part in an event the current situation of
French imperialism. We as a delegation complemented this event with a
short lecture on the history and current events of German imperialism.
At our own event at the camp, we had the opportunity to talk to French
comrades about the current domestic political situation in Germany and
were able to answer a variety of questions about it. We were
particularly pleased about the warm support from the comrades for our
own further organizational development.

But the week of togetherness is not just about education. It is also a
place for collective recreation, gathering strength for the next year of
political struggle and forging connections with comrades from other
parts of the country. That's why, in addition to sports activities in
the morning, there were a variety of leisure activities in the evenings.
 From revolutionary karaoke, dancing and game nights to a pub quiz that
German and French comrades organized together.

The UCL camp differs from many political camps that we have experienced
here in Germany in that there is an exceptionally high level of
self-government. From the educational program to the leisure activities
and reproductive tasks, the participants organize everything themselves.
Those responsible are named for each area of responsibility, who in turn
serve as contact persons for the comrades who are divided into the
shifts. A general meeting of all participants takes place every evening.
This made it possible to complete the work involved together and in
solidarity.

All in all, being at the camp this year was once again an incredibly
beautiful and important experience. The intensive exchange of content,
the warm welcome from our comrades and the solidarity living together at
the camp - and all of this in the middle of nature, far away from the
hustle and bustle and noise of our cities. Seeing how our sister
organization in France continues to build and play a relevant role in
the current class conflicts gives us strength. Seeing a new generation
of libertarian revolutionaries emerge who have class struggle at their
heart gives us hope. And seeing how the connections between our
organizations, which we established almost five years ago, continue to
strengthen, gives us confidence. For building a strong anarchist
organization here in the Federal Republic of Germany and for the
creation of a new anarchist international."

In the coming months and years we will continue to intensify our
collaboration with our comrades in France and elsewhere. In the current
phase, we believe it is particularly important to disseminate
information from the libertarian movement and class struggles locally.
