This September 11 must be a day of reflection for all those forces that
still bet on overcoming the current institutional framework and itsclass division. ---- We must be critical of the recent defeats, real, inthe social field and not leave out the fight for Catalonia'sindependence from this deeply reactionary State. ---- We must be honestwith ourselves and analyze what has led us to these defeats and thesefrustrations. Without making a sincere analysis, it is inevitable not todistinguish with whom real alliances can be established and capable ofprofoundly transforming reality, and not to once again fall intodependencies towards some elites and classes in the country, which havecaused there not to be a real bet, and indeed a kind of exchange offavors between elites in dispute within the same State.Faced with a moment where Pujolism was exhausted and where the path ofreform offered by the Tripartite had failed with the 2006 Statute, thespontaneous self-organization of the masses moved bourgeois politicstowards the popular agenda. It also created political forms such as theCDRs. But the absence of a platform with a clear class strategy andassumed by the people meant trusting in parliamentarism and investing inan "independenceist government" to make the referendum and the Republiceffective.This ended up causing the control of the situation to pass from the mostadvanced classes to the most conformist, and from the most conformist tothe parliamentary bourgeoisie. This party bourgeoisie is powerless tobreak the regime and sees its interests defended.Without a platform for popular power and without class independence, theparties' institutional, ideological and media machinery has crushedpopular aspirations. This machinery has also resurrected a neo-Pujolismsustained by desperation, turned into fanaticism. This is the momentwhere we are.In addition, now the monsters of the far-right identitarian also takeadvantage of this frustration. It is an ultra-right that makes viablewithin independence not only the structural racism, xenophobia andclassism of the bourgeois State, but also the vision that Catalonia is aunified ethnic group threatened by the most marginalized classes andmigrant workers. These tendencies had never had an organized face but,despite the self-delusion that Catalanism is inherently progressive,they had already expressed themselves in figures such as Josep Dencàs orHeribert Barrera. Now they take shape in an identity movement withprinciples that, in reality, make it impossible to liberate the peoples,the exploited and the oppressed.Without building libertarian socialism there can be no honestrelationship between peoples. There can be no federation or agreementbetween different territories. This confederation, like Catalonia, mustbe built with hands from all over and touched by a strong libertariantradition. We must be consistent with this and bet, here and now, onthis construction.If we do not clearly bet on this sincere construction of structures thatreaffirm our class independence, we will be at the mercy of capitalismsat different speeds that have created, and sustain, the current State.But we cannot fall into frustrations, as they are easily recovered bythe extreme right and its 'Alliances'.The construction of this popular power that moves towards libertariansocialism must generate excitement and a desire to build a trulysocialist and libertarian future. This is the fundamental task for thisperiod: to generously build a popular power that surpasses the currentstructures and that has control over the territory. It is also the taskof the political organization to facilitate and be the driving force inmaking it possible to fully understand this construction.It is the present and the future that we must build.Libertarian socialism and popular power is the way.Long live the earth!
