Criminalization of foreigners, radicalization of the practices ofprefectures, utilitarian vision of exiles, suppression of socialachievements: this project reinforces systemic racism which reeks of theabject overtones of colonial periods. ---- Going even beyond whatDarmanin planned, the Senate voted to abolish State Medical Aid (AME).The objective is to make life impossible for foreigners, but withserious consequences for the whole of society, since it would furtherdegrade public health. Without treatment, people deprived of AME wouldsee minor problems worsen and clog emergency rooms.A hunt for migrantsThe law proposes to systematically link Obligations to leave Frenchterritory (OQTF) to Bans on returning to French territory (IRTF),associating foreigners with delinquency, and ratifying the principle ofdouble punishment! People under OQTF would be registered on the "wantedpersons file", making the OQTF not an administrative sanction, but acriminal sanction. The minister even suggests the creation of a"residence police", thus recalling colonial France in the 1930s with theNorth African Brigade, ancestor of the BAC.It would be the multiplication of facial checks, increasing the pressureon non-white populations, with fingerprints and photos taken by force,which would increase police violence. This would be the expansion ofadministrative detention centers (CRA), prisons for foreigners awaitingdeportation where mistreatment is frequent.PDF leaflet to download"Non-respect of the principles of the Republic"The law would call into question the right to asylum, the reception ofvictims of violence, including children, would sweep away thepresumption of minority and authorize the separation of children fromtheir parents. It also introduces a central element: deprivation of aresidence permit for "non-compliance with the principles of theRepublic". The vagueness of this criterion portends many arbitraryracist expulsions.A racist law in the service of capitalismTo appear balanced, the minister says that he is going to regularizesome workers in "professions in tension". Make no mistake: the objectiveis to force migrants to take difficult, low-wage jobs. Moreover, thisnew residence permit, for one to four years, is precarious. If theprofession is no longer "in tension", the OQTF would fall again! TheDarmanin law in fact responds to the interests of capitalism by sortingworkers, to deprive some of their rights and freedoms.The law introduces a "talent" residence permit to bring in doctors andnurses... thus depriving poor countries... but with precarious and lesspaid statuses.The irony: the law claims to eliminate social assistance for foreignersin an irregular situation, even though they do not receive any. This liejust serves to support the idea that foreigners come to France "forbenefits", reinforcing the fantasies of the extreme right! This law, andothers, divides workers between French and foreigners, and contributesto the fascistization of our society.Let's stand together.
